Deon Derrico Sets Divorce Rumors Straight
Doubling Down With the Derricos stars Deon Derrico and Karen got a divorce, and shocked TLC fans. In the wake of that, some old rumors got perpetuated, and new rumors and speculation sprung up. This week, Deon, his mom, Marian “GG” Derrico, and Eric Jefferson addressed the rumors on social media.

Doubling Down With the Derricos fans heard a nasty rumor last year involving Eric Jefferson and the dad of 14 kids. Basically, it was alleged that they were lovers. Well, that was resurrected after the divorce. But this week, Deon and his mom denied that there was anything sexual between the two men.
Rumors also arose about the real reason why Deon Derrico and Karen got a divorce. TLC fans heard about Karen Derrico declaring bankruptcy about seven years ago. So, they worried that she might not make out on the small payments that her husband was due to pay her in the settlement.

Doubling Down With The Derricos – Rumors Addressed
Many TLC viewers even believed that the divorce was something on paper to get around taxes, welfare, and that sort of thing. Actually, the strongest theory was that it was a sham divorce for financial reasons. However, Deon dissed that rumor on Instagram as well.
In his reel ahead of the weekend, Deon Derrico said in part:
I thought it was good to address some of the things we’ve been seeing and hearing. [But] I take offense when someone inboxes me their ideology from a perspective that’s limited to 47 minutes from a television show of our lives—and make up this narrative that everyone has seemed to run with, and it derives at nothing.
He denied that he and Eric ever had anything but a father/son relationship. Plus, his mom GG threw in her thoughts on that saying, “When I look and see these comments about my son and my grandson here, it really hurts my heart.” The older TLC star also assured viewers that what they see is the way they really are.
As for the money problems, Deon Derrico explained how the child support and payments work. He added:
Karen pays the medical insurance. And so because she pays the medical insurance, which is about $2,000 a month, the legal fair equity of it is that I pay her half of the money she’s paying for healthcare. But let me be very clear: I cover every bill in both of our houses because we now live in separate houses. Yes we do [and] I cover bills at both houses…I say that not as bragging. I’m proud to be in the position to do it.
Finally, they confirmed that they are still filming for TLC.

It doesn’t matter, WHY? JUST REMEMBER THERE’S CHILDREN INVOLVED!
It’s not anyone’s business about why they got a divorce. I really like the show and as long as they keep showing it I will be watching. GOD bless them all, I’m pretty sure it wasn’t an easy decision.
I really wish you all would get back together. It couldn’t been that bad between you two.
