‘Today’ Al Roker Meets 30-Year Blast From The Past
Al Roker, the weather anchor on NBC’s Today, hasn’t had an easy time lately, but he’s smiling after a blast from the past reunited him with someone from 30 years ago. It came during the celebrations for the 30th anniversary on the plaza, read on to see the sweet moment.
Al Roker Has Been Unwell
For months, Today fans were fearful for the famous weatherman. In 2022, he had blood clots so he had to wait for surgery. And last month, he went under the knife for knee surgery. Decades ago, they saw him walking around the plaza interviewing people. Hopefully, his knees hold out and they seem to be as he was in the street with Hoda Kotb, and he met someone he last saw 30 years ago.
Al Roker’s been around as a newscaster and weatherman longer than many of his Today fans have been alive. However, he isn’t talking about retirement just yet. And, that’s great because if he’d retired he might have missed the sweet moment during the recent celebrations.
Today’s 30 Years On The Plaza – Blast From The Past
It’s a week-long celebration for Today on the iconic plaza, so Hoda Kotb announced to the crowd that a special anniversary was about to happen. First, the show revealed throwback footage of Al Roker meeting a baby in 1994. At the time, the child, Jordan was with his mom and dad, and he was just six months old. Al told him he was “the youngest” ever guest on the show.
Next, Hoda Kotb announced to the Today audience that she had a “surprise” for Al Roker. Out came the baby. Little Jordan certainly isn’t a baby anymore. He and his dad talked about the memory excitedly. Sadly though, his mom passed away. And that got fans on YouTube feeling a bit sad.
It seemed like a happy moment for the weatherman, and fans liked it as well. In the comments, people expressed their feelings:
