‘Jeopardy!’ Fans Blast Players After Missing Pop Culture Question

Jeopardy! fans have been disappointed lately with contestants missing what is seen to be easy questions. Many fans feel the level of competition has dropped in recent months. That happened again this last week on the show. There was one question that no one could get right, and fans at home were “screaming” at their TVs.

Here is the question the players missed and what fans had to say about it.

Jeopardy! Fans Blast Contestants After Missing Drake Question

On one episode of Jeopardy! this week, there was a question about a song. All three players struggled, with two missing it entirely and the third not even trying. When it was over, fans flocked to social media and said they were screaming the answers at their televisions.

The tag category was Producers Tags, and Ken Jennings offered up the clue. “Sonny Digital’s tag can be heard on this song by ILoveMakonnen and Drake, named for a weekday that’s got the “club goin’ up,” Ken read. This went to the contestants, who then tried to guess the answer.

Amy Yao buzzed in and said, “What is Thursday?” That was wrong. Josh Moss buzzed in, answering, “What is Friday?” Ken said that was also wrong. He turned to two-day champion Adriana Harmeyer and joked she had five days left to choose from. She just shook her head and didn’t answer.

Ken told them the answer was, “What is Tuesday?” The song is a 2014 iLoveMakonnen release featuring Drake on guest vocals. “Tuesday” hit number one on the US Rhythmic Charts, two on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hot Charts, and 23rd on the Mainstream Top 40. It was certified platinum with over one million sales.

Pop Culture Jeopardy! Should Fix This Problem

Fans were not happy when they watched the competitors all miss the question. This is also not uncommon lately, as several recent Jeopardy! competitors have struggled with more pop culture-centered questions. This is mostly common in music categories.

The fans took to social media after the episode and let loose on the three challengers.

  • “i was screaming watching ts live”
  • “Screaming TUESDAY at the tv”
  • “Ahhhhhhhhhhh I’ve never yelled at my phone as loud as I just did”
  • “None of these people have ever been to the club on a Tuesday, respectfully”

However, a new spinoff is coming to Prime Video called Pop Culture Jeopardy! While many fans feel the new show might “dumb down” the brand, the recent rash of people who can’t seem to answer any questions based on current-day trends might make it more popular than ever.

  1. I wouldn’t have known the answer, but I’m 71. Give me a question about Herman’s Hermits and I’d nail it, lyrics and all.

  2. I don’t listen to Drake’s music, so I wouldn’t know anything about what day of the week they were talking about. So, in summary, not everybody knows everything about Drake.
