Reba McEntire Will Be On Television Again Soon

On May 7, it was announced that NBC was picking up Reba’s comedy series Happy’s Place. She performed a rendition of her song “I’m A Survivor” for Reba. The song continues to be a staple in her concerts and has gone viral on social media several times. Now, fans were wondering if the country music icon would pen another theme song for the new sitcom. The answer is yes.

“Oh, definitely. I’ll be singing the theme song. We’ve started working on it, and we’ll have it soon finished,” Reba McEntire told People before the sitcom was picked up by NBC. “If they say it’s a go, I’ll finish it up and have it ready for when we go to series.”

Working on the new sitcom has been “so much fun,” she said. Happy’s Place reunites Reba McEntire with her former costar Melissa Peterman. She will play the role of Gabby, a bartender who is “a bit needy and dramatic.”

In March, Melissa Peterman shared that she was working with Reba McEntire once again. “This is why I have been smiling ALL the time,” the 52-year-old actress captioned the post. “I am thrilled to share the news that I get another chance to work with my friends. Buckle up @reba We are going to have some fun!”

Reba Shares A Few Details About The New Sitcom

“Rex Linn, my boyfriend, is also part of the show. We’ve got a great ensemble with same producers, showrunner and writers as we had with the Reba show, and it’s a great script,” she shared.

Then, Reba provided a few details about the new show’s plot.

“My [character Bobbie’s] dad was Happy, that was his name, and we owned a tavern called Happy’s Place,” she told People. “Well, Happy passed, and so he’s passed the tavern onto me, but there’s a little hiccup involved, so that’s the mystery right there. Everybody has to tune in and watch it, and I hope they love it.”

The “hiccup” Reba referred to in her quick synopsis is that Bobbie finds out that her half-sister would make an amazing business partner.

However, before Reba McEntire immerses herself in the world of sitcom television once again, she is slated to perform and host at the 2024 ACM Awards in Frisco, Texas. The entire awards show will be streamed live on Prime Video starting at 8 p.m. on May 16.
