When Does Latest ABC Spinoff Start Filming?
ABC confirmed in February that they were going ahead with a female-led Golden Bachelorette spinoff. The move came three months after Gerry Turner’s Bachelor season finale broke records. He married Theresa Nist during a widely watched TV wedding in January 2024.
The network also renewed The Bachelorette for Season 21. After weeks of fan speculation that Daisy Kent or Maria Georgas would be the lead, ABC announced Joey Graziadei’s fifth-place runner-up, Jenn Tran, as the next Bachelorette. The season has already started filming for a summer 2024 debut.
However, the network hasn’t made any new announcements regarding The Golden Bachelorette. But the show will likely begin to film in August for a September release like Gerry Turner’s season did in 2023.
Popular fan opinions suggest that Faith Martin or Leslie Fhima will get the role of leading lady. But now there’s a new contender no one saw coming.

Just three months after their Golden Wedding, Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist announced they were divorcing. The news came after weeks of speculation fueled by the revelation that they live in separate states.
Apparently, the two couldn’t agree on living arrangements and neither one wanted to move away from their families. Despite the heartbreaking decision to end her marriage, Theresa Nist isn’t turning her back on the possibility of finding love again.

She said during the Good Morning America interview that she hoped the divorce news didn’t stop anyone else from looking for love on reality TV. Does that mean she would be open to being the first Golden Bachelorette? That idea wasn’t brought up during the morning news show appearance.
However, one Bachelor Nation fan speculated on Reddit that ABC could make a Golden Bachelorette announcement soon to take the spotlight off Gerry Turner’s failed marriage.
Another Redditor wrote, “I suspect ABC kept this secret until after the Family Feud episode was shot. I bet Theresa and Gerry decided it wasn’t working a month after the wedding.”
