Jenn Tran Not Network’s First Pick For Bachelorette?
ABC revealed in February that Season 21 of The Bachelorette will air this summer. They kept fans on the edge of their seats by delaying an official announcement on the lead until the Bachelor Season 28 After the Final Rose special at the end of March.
Many gossip columnists and spoiler guru Reality Steve predicted the next Bachelorette would be runner-up Daisy Kent or bombshell Maria Georgas. Both were contestants on Joey Graziadei’s season of The Bachelor.
However, the network shocked everyone by going with another of Joey’s women: Jenn Tran. She will be the franchise’s first Asian-American lead. Daisy Kent revealed why she turned the role down, but Maria Georgas has remained mum on whether she was ever offered the role at all.
Maria Georgas’ Dad Weighs In On Drama
Joey Graziadei, his fiance Kelsey Anderson, and Daisy Kent have all made the podcast rounds. Jenn Tran is busy filming her season of The Bachelorette. Maria Georgas hasn’t appeared on any podcasts since the show wrapped, but seemed to send her dad in her place.
Bachelor viewers met Maria’s father, Nick Georgas, during the hometown dates. The businessman was a guest on the Bachmakers podcast. He revealed that his favorite moment from Season 28 was when Maria and another contestant, Sydney, went on a two-on-one date that ended with Sydney going home.
Maria popped her head into the conversation to add that his least favorite moment was early in the season when she “slipped into something more comfortable” to tantalize Joey Graziadei.
Maria’s father was grilled about how far she got into talks with the network to be the next Bachelorette. Nick Georgas deftly evaded the question, saying he wasn’t going to talk about The Bachelorette. In fact, he said no one should talk about it because it isn’t fair to Jenn Tran.

- I agree. Making it sound like Jenn is second or third choice cheapens it imo. I agree that they could always talk about that later down the road but keep the attention and talk about Jenn currently.

But one fan thought that her dad was shading Daisy for speaking out about turning down The Bachelorette.
Did Her Dad Shade Daisy?
The Reddit user wasn’t the only one to think that. Someone else left a similar comment on the TikTok video of the interview. The comment caught Maria Georgas’ attention and she spoke up to defend both her father and Daisy.
“I can assure you my dad has not seen any interview w Daisy. Nothing to do with anyone else!” She added that her dad was simply answering a question he was asked.
