Daisy Kent Reveals Reasons She Turned Down ‘The Bachelorette’

Daisy Kent has been one of the most loved contestants on The Bachelor in franchise history. She finished second on Joey Graziadei’s season of the show. She made history when she ended things with Joey before he could break up with her. Daisy even went to tell Kelsey she knew it was not going to be her in the end. Of course, Daisy was offered The Bachelorette role. However, she turned it down. Now, she’s opening up and sharing why.
Daisy Kent Reveals Why She Is Not The Bachelorette
Daisy Kent appeared on The Viall Files with Nick Viall and answered some tough questions. One of those questions was why she turned down the offer to be The Bachelorette.
She told Nick exactly why she knew only two weeks before the finale that it was not going to be her handing out roses during The Bachelorette. She said, “I was very open and honest about it and very transparent that I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do it but like two weeks before [AFTR I had decided].” She continued saying, “They were all super nice and respectful and understood all my reasons. They still want to see me grow and said, ‘If we can help you in any way, we want to.’”
What were her reasons? One of Daisy’s huge reasons for turning it down is because of her health. She realizes how stressful it can be physically and emotionally. Physically it would take a toll to be up so late and have so much pressure placed on the lead.
Daisy has previously admitted that she had a rough time in the house with the ladies sometimes because of her cochlear implant. She is still learning sounds and it could have been too overwhelming as the lead.
What Other Reason Did She Have?
Daisy Kent also shared that she just wasn’t ready for the journey. She also wasn’t ready to hurt people going through the process. Plus, she even wondered about what would happen if she didn’t like the guys selected for her.
In the end, she feels she made the right decision. She even considered that perhaps she would feel differently after they announced her as the lead. However, she doesn’t regret saying no.
Daisy said, “So, I thought really long and hard about all of it. It wasn’t an easy decision. I was wondering, like, after it got announced how I would feel … but I’m, like, so happy right now that I didn’t. So, it feels good [and] like I made the right decision for me.”
Since Daisy turned down the role, Jenn Tran was named as the new lead. Her season is currently filming.
