A Mexican television outlet is getting a lot of backlash following its coverage of the solar eclipse on Monday. They aired some NSFW viewer-submitted footage of the phenomenon. Mexican TV Outlet Airs ‘Testicular Eclipse’

RCG Media’s 24/7 news program was covering the eclipse on Monday, as many news outlets were doing.

Apparently, the outlet accidentally aired footage of a man’s testicles as it presented viewer-submitted clips of the eclipse. As the male host was reporting the different cities where the eclipse would be seen, clips started being shown on the left side of the screen. One video showed a man blocking out the sun with his testicles rather than the eclipse.

The male anchor went on with the rest of his report, completely ignoring what happened. However, viewers heard the two female anchors gasp off-camera. Luckily, the video was taken off the screen quickly.

He explained to viewers that they were watching footage that was submitted to the news outlet. Continuing, he said that sometimes offering viewers the option to submit clips leads to embarrassing moments for those presenting the news.

Man On X Claims He Sent In The NSFW Video

The prank is fairly well-known in Latin America, but viewers were shocked that the outlet didn’t seem to review the clips before they aired. During the 2019 eclipse, someone from Chile shared their own “testicular eclipse” on the internet during the solar event. Tommy Lee, the drummer of Motley Crue, posted a similar video to his Instagram page before he thought better of it and took it down.

However, the incident that occurred on Monday seems to be the first time something so vulgar made its way onto television. More specifically, it is the first time a prank of this sort has made it onto an international news show.

One user claimed to be the one who sent the clip in. The person with the username Rhevolver seemed to enjoy sharing that he had successfully pulled off the prank.

“Greetings to all my people from Saltillo who had to watch my eggs on television because those from @rcg_media neglected to review the video of the eclipse carefully,” Rhevolver wrote on X.

It is still unclear if the clip submitted was of Rhevolver or if it was from one of the previous “testicular eclipse” jokes that have been posted in the past. Also, there doesn’t seem to be any kind of punishment in mind for him if he was the one who actually did this.

RCG media has not issued a statement or responded to any news outlets regarding the incident at this time.
