‘DWTS’ Julianne Hough Secures New Movie Role
Dancing With The Stars hostess Julianne Hough is no stranger to the silver screen. The 35-year-old has a handful of movie roles under her belt, including Burlesque, the Footloose remake, and Grease Live! Now, it appears she’s preparing to join another cast of an upcoming film.

Julianne Hough Flexes Her Acting Abilities In Upcoming Horror Film
Dancing With The Stars hostess Julianne Hough is fully expected to return to the ballroom this fall. But like many other cast members, she’s working on plenty of other projects in the meantime.
Now, media outlets can confirm Julianne will star in a new monster movie coming out next year.
Right now, Julianne Hough’s role in the film isn’t known. But she is confirmed to be part of the cast of The Bride!, written and directed by Maggie Gyllenhall. The Warner Bros film is reportedly inspired by the classic horror novel Frankenstein. The project also stars big names such as Christian Bale and Penelope Cruz.
The professional dancer confirmed the news herself on Instagram this week, writing:
“I could not be more thrilled about joining this spectacular cast alongside the exceptional writer and director @mgyllenhaal – you all are not ready for this magic… WOW! 🤩”

As per Deadline, “The Bride! sees a lonely Frankenstein travel to 1930s Chicago to seek the aide of a Dr. Euphronius in creating a companion for himself. The two reinvigorate a murdered young woman and the Bride is born. She is beyond what either of them intended, igniting a combustible romance, the attention of the police and a wild and radical social movement.”
Right now, The Bride! is expected to hit theaters in October 2025. If Julianne Hough is still hosting Dancing With The Stars when Season 34 hits next fall, fans can almost certainly expect to hear more about it.
The DWTS Hostess Is Thankful For Many Things At The Moment
Right now, DWTS hostess Julianne Hough has quite a bit to be thankful for. She attended the Oscars this year and has plenty of exciting projects to look forward to. But even so, she wants her fans and followers to hold their family members tight.
In December, her sister-in-law Hayley Erbert suffered a cranial hematoma. Although Hayley had two successful surgeries and is currently recovering, she and her husband Derek Hough had to spend the Christmas holidays in the hospital. Amid the frightening situation, Julianne encouraged her followers to hug their family members and never take life for granted.
In 2024, the Hough family has nowhere to go but up. The road ahead is brimming with opportunities and they’re all thankful for one another.
