Julianne Hough Reminds Fans ‘Hold Family Tight’ This Christmas
Julianne Hough’s Dancing With The Stars hosting duties may be over for the season, but she still has a lot on her mind right now.
The pro dancers will start their 2024 tour after the new year and Julianne will appear at some performances. But in the meantime, the 35-year-old wants to get through the holiday season.
This Christmas, she’s incredibly thankful for her family. As she shared on Instagram, she’s holding everyone very tightly this year.
Julianne Hough’s family has been through a lot over the past few weeks
As most fans of the Hough family know, Derek Hough and his wife Hayley Erbert were in the middle of their Symphony of Dance tour when the unimaginable happened. On December 6, Hayley became disoriented and needed emergency medical attention. Doctors discovered she had a cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel and required immediate surgery. They removed part of her skull and even recently performed a second surgery.
Thankfully, Hayley pulled through. Now, Julianne Hough is incredibly thankful for her brother and his wife as Christmas approaches.
“Holding my family extra tight this holiday season ❤️” the Dancing With The Stars hostess captioned her Instagram post. She included several photos of herself and family members. Her photo with Hayley Erbert Hough immediately captured everyone’s attention though.
It’s not immediately clear when the photos were taken. Since Hayley’s first surgery, her face is hidden in every photo, so it’s probable Julianne took these within the past week or so. Regardless, fans are glad to learn that Hayley Erbert’s health is improving.

The Houghs celebrate Christmas as Hayley recovers
Throughout Hayley’s entire recovery journey, Derek has shared updates with followers on social media. Just before her second skull surgery, the DWTS judge shared a video of himself and Hayley walking in Washington, D.C. where they have remained since December 6.
Hayley’s recovery progress might be long, but like Julianne, she’s probably incredibly thankful for family. No one wants to celebrate the Christmas holidays while recovering from major surgery, but it appears the Houghs will gladly hug one another tighter this year.
