Fans Concerned By Randy Jackson’s Latest Appearance
On Name That Tune a few years ago, lots of fans were talking about how Randy Jackson looked way too thin, and this month, when he attended an artist’s concert he seemed less enthusiastic than normal, being slower and less animated. Naturally, this sort of thing worries American Idol fans because he’s changed so much over the last few years.
American Idol Fans Worry That Randy Jackson Is Ill
The host of Name That Tune seems to be a fraction of the size he was on American Idol. Many people felt concerned about his health as he dropped so much weight. He reportedly decided to do something about his health because of a Type-2 Diabetes diagnosis. At one stage, he weighed in at 350lbs but he’s nowhere near that size in 2024. However, his before and after photos made people wonder what else might be wrong with him.
At the end of January 2024, fans started to worry that his health had deteriorated drastically. Randy Jackson underwent gastric bypass surgery 20 years ago, and he shed a third of his weight. However, American Idol fans noticed that he seemed to have some mobility issues. In March this year, he also seemed slower in speech, and his cool-guy pizzazz seems to have left him.

Name That Tune Star Appears Slower At Artists’ Convention
On March 7, Paula Moore shared that she and the American Idol alum would be chatting at the “fireside” at the March 15 South By South West Convention in Austin, Texas. Both of them are part of the Greater Than Distribution company that promotes A&R-driven music. In her caption on Instagram, Paula sounded so excited:
Oh my goodness, this is going to be so much fun! You know I used to curate the A&R panel every year for many years @sxsw so this will be a fun return for me alongside Randy Jackson in a fireside chat — we’re gonna talk about about all the things.
Randy Jackson did his chat with Paula, but The Sun reported that he didn’t come over as sharp. In their article, they wrote:
The Name That Tune spoke to a huge crowd on Friday, but seemed less than animated during his panel. [He] was called on to share his expertise in music, but spoke quietly and slowly on stage.
As you can see in the photo above, Randy Jackson dressed comfortably, but it seems a pity that he seemed a lot quieter and spoke slower than he did in the past. Of course, this will only raise even more speculation that he isn’t well.
