To celebrate their twenty-eighth wedding anniversary, Live With Kelly And Mark hosts, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos jetted to Vegas. Notably, they were revisiting the Las Vegas chapel where they eloped in 1996.

In 1995, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos first saw each other during a chemistry test for All My Children. Afterward, the two played the roles of daytime drama love interests. However, it wasn’t long before the couple’s on-screen romance transferred to real-life love. Both Kelly and Mark quickly were madly in love and sealing the deal with their Vegas wedding in 1996. Since then, they raised their three children together: Michael, 26, Lola, 22, and Joaquin, 21. Undeniably, nothing is more fitting to commemorate the event than returning to the chapel where they began their marriage. Live With Kelly And Mark is hosting four live shows while they are there.

On Wednesday, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos treated everyone to a beautiful tribute to their wedding. In particular, the romantic couple commemorated the occasion by recreating photos from their original nuptials in 1996 at Nevada Chapel of The Bells. On Kelly’s Instagram page, she adds photos of the past and present couple at the chapel. Then captions: “Viva Las Vegas ✨ Then ➡️ Now.” In almost identical poses, the couple embraces each other and stares lovingly into their partner’s eyes. Both sport giddy grins in the sweet throwback.
Kelly Ripa And Mark Consuelos’ Memories Flood In
When visiting the Nevada Chapel of The Bells, Kelly Ripa was flooded with memories. She says, “It was really romantic, though. It was very sweet.” Then she adds, “We cherish those memories, still to this day. It’s been 28 years and we still can remember every minute of that wedding. And I mean, it was really minutes. It was like two minutes!” On Wednesday, the Live With Kelly And Mark show went along with the couple to Vegas to officiate a wedding. However, Mark says, “Some of those feelings came back as I drove up.” Then he describes one thing that didn’t change, “I started getting sweaty.”

Additionally, on the Live With Kelly And Mark show, they reflect on how their relationship is ever evolving through their time together. “We were 25-year-olds. Our son [Michael] is 26,” he says with a reality check. Furthermore, Mark Consuelos reminisces about his big decision to take the marriage leap. He says, “It doesn’t make any sense. In a city where people roll the dice every day here, this is one of the safest bets I’ve made.”
