For some time, rumors flew that the Kelly Clarkson staff was in a toxic environment. That was eventually debunked and they all shared that they did love working for her. Tickets for her talk show, which has moved to New York City, and her concerts, are in such high demand. There is a waitlist to see her talk show, which films twice a day. Though she does not actively tour, Kelly has done short residencies in Las Vegas and has a show on the East Coast coming up. Unfortunately, fans complained about the high ticket prices but were still thrilled to see her somewhere other than Vegas.

Now, the mother of two is openly admitting she was hard to handle when she was on Season 1 of American Idol. She blew everyone away with her powerful voice but, according to The Sun, there were things she would not compromise. While on the Smartless podcast, with hosts Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and Sean Hayes, Kelly opened up about her time on AI.

“I got in trouble on American Idol. They were like, ‘So, we’re about to be on camera.’ And I was like, ‘I know.’ And they were like, But you’re gonna be on camera.’ And I was like, ‘I know.’ And it was like, ‘Okay, well, do you want any makeup or hair.’ And I was like, ‘No, I’m in a house right now. You’re doing like behind the scenes.’ I was like, ‘I’m not on stage.’ I was like, ‘I’ll do it for stage, but why are we doing this now?'”

Kelly Clarkson even admitted that there was a powerful producer who simply did not care for her all because she didn’t “play that game.” In the end, she won her season and has become immensely successful. Clarkson has three Grammys under her belt as well as seven Emmys to boot.

Still Catching Heat

Over two decades later, Kelly Clarkson is still catching heat for being herself. She lost over fifty pounds this season but fans are questioning how.
