Ryan Edwards & Estranged Wife Still Married, Call Off Divorce

It has been a rough ride for Ryan Edwards and his estranged wife, Mackenzie Edwards. The Teen Mom star seemed to be getting his life back together. He was even filmed with his son, Bentley and it looked like he was getting a fresh start. Unfortunately, that all soured when she filed for protection against him in early 2023. Then, at the end of February 2023, she filed for divorce. Mackenzie had valid reasons for the protective order and ultimately, the end of the marriage. She alleged he had gotten violent, acting as if he was going to kill her. He was eventually arrested and went to jail.

Eventually, Ryan was sent to rehab and met a new woman, Amanda Conner. She has an interesting past, as well but Mackenzie started a romance with a friend from her past. It was short-lived and it appeared that they were really just good friends. Now that Ryan has moved on and is doing his own thing, it would seem that the divorce would be set and ready to go. According to The Sun, Ryan and Mackenzie’s divorce has been officially dismissed. This means that there has been no activity from either party therefore they will remain married.

Per the court: “It is ordered by the court that this case be, and the same is hereby dismissed, without prejudice, with the cost taxed against the plaintiff.” This is dated February 19th, 2024. As for why the court decided this: “There was never a Final Decree on this case. It sat for over 270 days with nothing filed so it was dismissed on Procedural Steps.” According to the court clerk, Mackenzie and Ryan Edwards will now have 30 days to reopen the case, if they so choose.

What Happened?

It is unclear what happened and why Mackenzie and Ryan Edwards did not go forward with their divorce. She is able and available to keep the ball rolling. As for Ryan, he is capable of pushing this ahead, as well. As of January, the two had a major scuffle and Ryan was well aware that they were in the middle of a divorce. In a 911 call, when he was attempting to get his stuff from his home but Mackenzie was fearful, he said this:

“She’s still my wife. We’re just in the process of getting divorced. Right now I don’t think it’s a good idea if I show up without an officer because she is armed. I don’t know how else to explain it to you.”

So, hopefully, both Ryan and Mackenzie take advantage of the 30 days that they are given unless they truly thrive on the drama. Do you think they secretly want to stay married? Are you shocked they did not push the divorce through? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
