Shep Rose Goes On Retreat Amid Drinking Confession
Southern Charm star Shep Rose recently went on a retreat amid his confessions that he has a drinking problem. He talked about his struggles during part one of the reunion but never said he was going to rehab or AA. Now, it seems he has found his own way to handle his issues. Read on for more details.
Shep Rose Goes On Retreat Amid Drinking Confession
During the Season 9 Southern Charm reunion, Shep Rose confessed that he had a problem with alcohol. Furthermore, he shared that he went over the top and was a complete mess at BravoCon 2023. The big question was what he was going to do next and how he would fix his situation. He explained that he was going to cut out hard liquor and stick to beer. Everyone was proud of him for at least acknowledging he was struggling and now it seems like Shep has taken matters into his own hands.
A Reddit thread showed he went on an ayahuasca retreat in Costa Rica. The OP wanted to know what followers thought of this. For reference, an ayahuasca retreat is defined as:
“an opportunity to work closely with an indigenous shaman through a guided journey into another dimension. The natural healing power of ayahuasca and other medicinal plants help ayahuasca retreat participants to reconnect to nature and to their true selves.”

Shep confirmed that he did go away but what did Redditors have to say about this?
- Ayahuasca can be transformative, and I really hope that he doesn’t take away from its genuine medicinal capabilities by claiming to be “healed” then acting a fool on tv month later.
- So I went and actually looked at the post and I have to say he looks much healthier and less bloated than he normally does.
- Although I can see the benefits of plant-based medicine, I feel like he needs to go to a formal rehab facility as well.
- I feel like this is him just trying for a quick fix to the problem? Addiction issues are never a quick fix.

Though it seemed like Southern Charm fans were proud of Shep Rose, they did believe that he needed more than this. He appeared to enjoy his time away. However, he did limit his comments on his post so he may not want to hear what people had to say. At the same time, Shep did note he was open to followers’ thoughts. Sheps seems very confused still but hopefully, this experience did something for him.
