Ariana Madix & Katie Maloney’s Business A Bust?
Is Vanderpump Rules stars Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney’s sandwich shop, Something About Her, a bust? The ladies have been working on this for quite some time. They had some hiccups along the way as all businesses do. Yet, this may be the end of their dream. Read on for more details.
Ariana Madix & Katie Maloney’s Business A Bust?
Katie Maloney always had a dream that one day, she and her now ex-husband, Tom Schwartz would open a sandwich shop. He then became so immersed in building Schwartz & Sandy’s with Tom Sandoval, she needed an outlet. When she proposed it to Ariana Madix, who was dating Sandoval at the time, she jumped on board. They started to create sandwiches and even had a name. Lisa Vanderpump helped them find a location and it was a great distraction for Katie during her divorce. At the end of Season 10, the ladies did a soft launch and introduced their sandwiches.
It was supposed to be a focal point in Season 11 of Vanderpump Rules but they had some permit and construction issues. This definitely held them back and, along with all of this, Ariana was busy with other projects. She was off on DWTS, had endorsement deals, and now, she is in NYC for a few months starring in Chicago on Broadway. So, what is going on with Something About Her as it has had an uncertain future for quite some time? According to The Sun, it looks like the shop may be defunct as signs are being taken down.

Previously, the shop looked ready to go with a sign and a yellow and white awning, perfect for patio enjoyment. Now, that is all gone, per an insider, and here is why:
“The front patio at that location was there for years (when it was Hedley’s Restaurant), and it was there without proper city permits. After the remodeling, Katie and Ariana learned that permit laws had changed and they had to take down their sign and break down the entire front patio.”
The ladies filed for new permits as of December 2023. Everything for the outdoor area will look different. However, they do know that it will actually serve Something About Her as it will allow for more patrons to enjoy the outdoor seating.
The Inside
Aside from the exterior, the inside of Something About Her needs work, as well. Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney do have to rip up the floors. This is sad as they had perfectly placed everything inside so it appeared to be ready for customers. Now, that will cost extra but, if their dream is still alive, it will be worth it. In the meantime, Katie has started a new podcast with Pump Rules alum, Dayna Kathan. It is from Nick Viall’s Envy Media Company and is called Disrespectfully. Then, Season 11 of the hit Bravo series begins on January 30th so hopefully, all of the hiccups are ironed out sooner rather than later.
