‘RHOBH’ How Much Could Erika Jayne Lose In Divorce?
How much could RHOBH star Erika Jayne stand to lose in her divorce from Tom Girardi? Though she initially filed in November 2020, a lot has transpired since then. Now, she is seeing what this could cost her in the long run and it has a hefty price tag. Read on for more details.
RHOBH How Much Could Erika Jayne Lose In Divorce?
When RHOBH viewers first met blonde bombshell Erika Jayne, they were shocked to learn about her husband. Tom Girardi was one of the most well-known attorneys in the country and he was also over thirty years older than her. Some felt she was a gold digger but then they saw how the two interacted and how she doted on him and it somewhat made sense. By the same token, it was still a bit strange as she was so fun and vivacious. Then, Erika filed for divorce from Tom, and her co-stars were shocked. As it turned out, he had been treating her poorly, there was infidelity, and he was starting to forget things but would not accept it.
Then, things got worse as it came out Tom had been stealing from his clients and was now broke. Erika had to hand over belongings and was implicated, guilty by association. Soon, there were questions if Tom was even competent enough to stand trial. Now, he has been deemed okay to do so. With that being said, if Erika goes through with the divorce, what does she stand to lose? It is a lot and she has already downsized immensely and had to find her way back. According to The Sun, the performer could lose around a million dollars in the process.
Now, this is only if Tom Girardi goes to trial and is convicted as he currently does have Alzheimer’s disease at 84. Ronald Richards, who served as Girardi Keese’s special counsel against Erika Jayne, had this to say:
“Her divorce has been sitting on ice since 2021. They’re doing nothing in that case. She is set to get half of whatever remains after the bankruptcy case, some things are exempt and there are community assets. But if he’s convicted, a restitution order could attack whatever is left, and she could lose out, as well as be on the hook for lifetime alimony payments.”
A Long Road
There are around 480 million dollars worth of claims against Tom Girardi’s estate. Some believe that Erika Jayne was hoping that her estranged husband would not be deemed competent. Therefore, maybe this would just go away but clearly, it cannot. Erika has maintained that she knew nothing about what her husband was up to or his wrongdoings. She also said she met with the victims, as well. This season of RHOBH has seen a much calmer Erika so it seems she is taking life in stride.
Do you think Erika should have to pay anything in her divorce or should she just be free to live her life? Let us know and watch RHOBH Wednesdays on Bravo.
