‘RHOBH’ Erika Jayne’s Husband’s Health Steadily Declining
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne’s husband, Tom Girardi, is allegedly not fit to stand trial due to his declining health. His lawyers have said that he is not competent and is currently residing in an assisted living facility. Tom Girardi Faces Serious Legal Issues Despite Dementia Diagnosis
As you may know, Tom Girardi was indicted earlier this year on alleged wire fraud charges. The accusations state that he embezzled around $15 million over 10 years.
Girardi and his law firm were forced into filing for bankruptcy by creditors. Additionally, his wife Erika Jayne was sued for $25 million that the firm allocated towards her bills.
The RHOBH star denied all allegations of wrongdoing and stated that she had no knowledge of her husband’s business dealings.

Around the same time that his legal problems became apparent, Erika Jayne filed for divorce from the disbarred lawyer. The couple is still legally married two years later, although they do live separately.
Tom Girardi is battling dementia. His team of lawyers is now revealing more about his health status as they try to fight the prosecution. According to court documents, he is dealing with significant memory loss.
His brother, Robert, obtained conservatorship over Tom in 2021. His official diagnosis included dementia and late-onset Alzheimer’s.
Girardi was moved into an assisted living facility in Los Angeles in 2021. He was moved to a new home in Orange County in 2022. The most recent court filings stated that he has been moved from Care Level 1 to Care Level 2 in the assisted living facility.
This means that he requires supervision around the clock due to his memory loss. He also needs assistance with all of his bathing needs and often needs to be reminded to change his clothes. However, he is still able to get up and walk around on his own.
The prosecutors are demanding that Erika Jayne’s husband stand trial though. Apparently, the experts they hired to assess Tom Girardi said that he could handle the court trial.

It has been a while since RHOBH star Erika Jayne has spoken publicly about her estranged husband’s health. She talked with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live in May 2022.

At the time, Erika stated that her husband still called her every now and then, despite having filed for divorce in 2020. She also revealed that Tom Girardi believed that he is still a practicing lawyer. Erika Jayne acknowledged that his condition was something that would never get better, only worse.
In June 2022, she also shared why she wasn’t in a hurry to speed up the divorce process. Erika told Bravo that if the divorce went through she’d actually have to pay Tom Girardi alimony. “I’ll stay married, thanks. It’s a weird time and I’m really ready for it to be over,” she said at the time.
