‘RHOSLC’ Star’s Son Hospitalized With Unknown Condition
Lisa Barlow has revealed that her son Jack is currently in a Colombian hospital battling an unknown condition. The Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City star took to social media to voice her concern for her 19-year-old son.
Jack Barlow traveled to Colombia to serve his year-long mission trip. Lisa confirmed his mission in a December 6 post on X, formerly known as Twitter. She posted a selfie that her son took while touring the streets in Colombia.
Fans React To Lisa Barlow’s Son Being Hospitalized
Just two weeks after her joyful post, Lisa says that her son is dealing with a medical issue that doctors have not been able to figure out just yet. “I miss Jack every day — he has been in the hospital for 3 days and it’s killing me not being there,” Lisa wrote in her post.
When asked by fans what illness Jack was dealing with, Lisa said she was unable to answer why her son was hospitalized. “We will know more tomorrow,” she wrote in reply. When responding to another fan, Lisa noted that the doctors were working on a diagnosis. “They are figuring it out,” she wrote.

Fans quickly came to her support, offering their praise for her role as a mother. “A mother’s job is never done and sometimes it feels like the work is even harder as they get older.” Lisa agreed with those words, writing, “Never and it does,” wrote one fan.
Another fan wished Jack well, acknowledging the risk that comes with missions. “Part of the mission experience I suppose. Hope he is getting excellent care in Colombia and will be better soon,” the fan wrote.
Lisa Barlow’s Relationship With Her Son
In the Season 4 premiere, Lisa was struggling to come to terms with Jack choosing to go on a mission. “A mission is devoting two years of your life to serving others and teaching people about Jesus Christ,” Lisa revealed during a confessional. “So, Jack’s giving up two years of life to basically help everyone but himself.”
Perhaps the most troubling aspect of Jack’s mission was his secrecy regarding it. Lisa admitted that she was kept in the dark throughout his decision. “It hurts,” she said. “What else don’t I know about Jack? Am I so disconnected from my son that he doesn’t want to tell me this? Am I, like, a bad mom, m I not present enough? How did I miss this?”
When Lisa realized that her time with her son would drastically change, she became emotional. “When he told us, I was crying because I haven’t been involved in the process,” Lisa told her husband John Barlow during the episode. “I think I’m still dealing with the emotion that I had no idea, and he’s been prepping for a year, and then it makes me think that maybe he does need more time with me, or maybe he just wants less.”
