RHOSLC stars’ friendship tested
During Season 1 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, viewers saw the close friendship between Lisa Barlow and Meredith Marks. However, that friendship has become strained as Season 2 progresses.
In Barlow’s opinion, Marks isn’t there for her “100%.” Furthermore, she feels that Meredith fiercely protects co-star Mary Cosby, despite her rude behavior to the rest of the cast.
After being confronted about the double standard, Meredith said in a recent episode that Mary is an adult. Additionally, she’s not responsible for her friend’s behavior.
The statement caused Lisa Barlow to bolt from the table and return to the rented villa. Once inside, she went on an unhinged rant behind closed doors. While the cameras weren’t present, Barlow was still wearing her mic pack, resulting in a shocking ‘hot mic’ moment.

During the angry outburst, Lisa Barlow called her former friend a “wh*re.” More explicitly, she alleged that Marks “f*cked half of New York.”
At the end of her expletive-filled diatribe, Barlow opened the room door and flung her mic pack at the camera, saying “Here, you can have your mic back.”
During an appearance on WWHL after the episode aired, Meredith Marks revealed when she learned of her friend’s harsh words. According to Marks, she viewed the episode the day before the cast gathered to film the Season 2 reunion. Host Andy Cohen teased Meredith’s “raw” reaction during the reunion.
In the meantime, Lisa Barlow has an explanation for how the hot mic moment happened if her mic pack was off. According to the reality star, there was a boom mic in the room during her rant.
Meredith Marks slams her as a liar
Meredith Marks shared a screenshot of Barlow’s explanation on her own Instagram Stories with the comment, “Hmm.”
She followed it up with a second slide calling her former friend a liar. She shared a photo of a large boom mic. “It requires someone to hold it,” Meredith explained.
The television personality continued, “If it was outside the door we would have seen it and in the room [Lisa would have seen it.]”
Marks included the hashtag “stopthelies,” implying Lisa Barlow was lying in her explanation about the ‘hot mic’ moment.
The way they were: 10 years of friendship
While RHOSLC premiered in 2020, Lisa Barlow and Meredith Marks have been friends for years. In honor of Meredith’s birthday in late 2021, Barlow shared a throwback photo on her Instagram feed.
“Our first lunch turned into dinner and years of friendship,” she wrote on the post.
