Gerry Turner Finds Second Chance At Love With Theresa Nist
Gerry Turner was happily married to his high school sweetheart for over 40 years. Sadly, Toni passed away unexpectedly in 2017 after a brief illness.
In early 2023, ABC announced that the 72-year-old widower would be the franchise’s first Golden Bachelor. The show cast twenty-two women between the ages of 60 and 75 for the senior dating show.
The inaugural season of the spinoff premiered on September 28. After weeks of emotional rose ceremonies, Gerry Turner narrowed his choices down to just two women: Theresa Nist, 70, and Leslie Fhima, 64.

During the season finale that aired on November 30, Turner proposed to Nist. After the finale aired, they were able to publicly display their love. They also surprised viewers by announcing their wedding date: January 4.
While they initially didn’t want a TV wedding, the couples changed their minds. The Golden Wedding special airs on ABC starting at 8 PM on Thursday, January 4, 2024.

Even with the help of producers, Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist have a huge undertaking in planning a wedding so quickly.

During the season, Nist had drama with Kathy Swarts over her growing bond with Gerry Turner. Nist’s daughter revealed that the two have since “talked it out” and are friends now.

Not only will Swarts be at the wedding, but she also went wedding dress shopping with Theresa Nist and her daughter.
What about Leslie Fhima? Theresa Nist previously revealed that she would invite her to the wedding, as well as many other Golden Bachelor contestants. Fhima has yet to share if she will attend the wedding or not.
