‘Golden Bachelor’ Producers Worried About Gerry Turner’s Kisses?
Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner kissed women on the ABC show. Yeah, shocking, right? Well, it might interest you to know the producers felt apprehensive about witnessing that happening. Intimacy can be awkward on reality TV but older people getting intimate might have put people off watching. Once Gerry and Theresa Nist got alittle too intimate how did the production crew react? Golden Bachelor Fans Didn’t See All The Intimacy
Despite there being no contestants under the age of 60, the older cast proved they were every bit as up for some hi-jinks as younger people. Susan Noles and Kathy Swarts dished about skinny dipping. Well, Susan confessed that she was the one in the pool with nothing on in the early mornings. And Kathy was the one who clashed with Theresa Nist over talking about being kissed by Gerry Turner.

Golden Bachelor fans might have missed a lot of kisses and other intimacy because of editing. For instance, Sandra Mason bagged a kiss from Gerry when she did her wedding dress dress-up day. She shared the photo and noted that it was cut from the final footage. That came as a surprise because fans didn’t think she got any kisses from the lead.
Gerry Turner Kissed & Producers Were Not Comfortable At First
People reported that kissing is more acceptable with younger people. They cited “executive producer Bennett Graebner” as talking about that during a NYC panel.
We didn’t know how viewers were going to respond, In fact, I don’t think we knew how we were going to respond. We see that a lot. We stand 10, 15 feet away from young men and women all the time making out. It feels a little weird, a little creepy. But, there was something on the first night about thinking about Dad here and wondering what that was going to feel like.
When the Golden Bachelor lead got his first kiss from Theresa, she went for it, and Gerry responded immediately. How did the producers react to that? Continuing the narrative, Bennett said to Theresa Nist:
And I don’t know if you heard us, we erupted. We were so loud that we had to quiet ourselves down. And, I think that was the moment we realized this could work. We loved it…It was really beautiful, that moment. It really was.
