Has Sugar Bear Thompson Responded To Anna’s Tragic Death?
Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson was not the father of Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell, but the Mama June: From Not to Hot star had her stay with him briefly when he was with Jennifer Lamb. As Anna passed away recently, members of the family are speaking out about the 29-year-old cancer victim. But, has Sugar Bear done so?
Sugar Bear Went Very Quiet, Did He Say Anything About Anna?
Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson’s dad was never all that active on social media. These days, he hardly ever posts anything. So, it’s not clear what is going on in his life. At one stage, he was reportedly going to rehab, but that never happened. Two days ago, someone asked him what he felt about Anna Cardwell’s death. That came on an Instagram post that he pinned in August 2022, and it went unanswered.
Sugar Bear hasn’t been seen on the WeTV show regularly for a while now. However, it’s well known that Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird had some choice words for him as a parent. While he felt emotional about handing over custody, Alana felt he just acted emotionally rather than wanting her after she fell under Pumpkin’s custody. Naturally, fans of Mama June wonder if he went to the funeral or commented about Anna Cardwell’s death.
Anna Cardwell Died, Did Thompson Comment?
So far, Aunt Doe Doe, Honey Boo Boo, June Shannon, and more WeTV cast members spoke about the death of Anna Cardwell this month. Eldridge Toney spoke out about his wife’s death as well and said that as Anna passed away, he held her hand. His version of her passing was sweet and terribly sad. As the family freaked out, he quietly told her that it was going to be okay. Meanwhile, on Reddit, an OP asked about Mike Thompson.
Has Sugarbear commented on Anna’s passing? The reason I’m wondering is because he knew hers pretty well too especially from the here comes Honey boo-boo show he was pretty close with Kaitlyn as well. Can imagine he’s pretty hurt.
Mama June fans who spoke about Sugar Bear had not seen anything about him mentioning Anna’s death. Apparently, his ex-wife, Jennifer did, but nobody saw Mike Thompon say anything yet. Additionally, no outlets mentioned that he attended the funeral.

- Sugar bear only knew Anna for a few years. He didn’t raise Anna, she lived with her grandma until TLC started filming at which point she moved in with June and the family. Anna then moved out with Kaitlyn after June stole her TLC money. So I’m sure he feels bad about her dying but I don’t see how he’d be heartbroken. He didn’t really have a relationship with her.
