Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell’s Cancer Worse, Last Family Trip Planned
Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell didn’t get along with her mom, June Shannon, and stayed away from Mama June: Family Crisis. However, TLC fans saw that she appeared only to deliver the bad news that she was diagnosed with cancer. She got June to help her break the bad news to Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird and Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson. Now, Pumpkin shared the sad news that her sister will take her last family vacation as her cancer’s gotten much worse.
Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell Fights The Good Fight
Mama June fans were terribly sad to hear that June’s daughter’s stage 4 adrenal carcinoma tumor had grown. Placed on immunotherapy, it would take about five weeks to find out if she would improve. At not even thirty years old, with two young daughters, it seemed devastating. However, WETV fans pray for her and root for a full recovery.
Anna Cardwell knew that her cancer had become terminal and in late October, Mama June fans saw that she started thinking about death and leaving her kids behind. So, she hoped that people would always remind Kylee and Kaitlyn how much she loved them. WETV fans still held out hope, but it seemed that Anna had moved beyond denial and into an acceptance of her possible fate.
Anna Cardwell Hasn’t Given Up Hope Yet?
In November, Mama June: Famly Crisis fans heard that the mom of two had completed her radiation. By then the cancer was in the liver, kidney, and lungs. So, after treatment, she treated herself to some pickles. At the time, WETV fans hoped that the radiation would blast the cancer to smithereens. However, The Sun reported this week, that things are not going well for her.
The information was gleaned from “Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird, [who] provided a pessimistic update on the Facebook page for her and sister Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson’s online boutique.”
Pumpkin spoke about Anna Cardwell while speaking about shipping orders from her store.
we are going on a “last family trip” with my sister Anna on Thursday. So we will be live Tuesday and Wednesday night. ALL BASKETS ARE TO BE PAID WEDNESDAY NIGHT!! All packages from the live sale will go out Thursday morning before I’m out of town.
Mama June fans noted the bit about a “last family trip.” And in the comments, Pumpkin explained more:
sadly it’s gotten worse over the last couple of months and her wish is to go to Gatlinburg with all of us. So we are making that happen & making the best out of this.

Chickadee is a very special nickname. That is what my dad called me. And now I am facing cancer with my husband. The teminal kind. It is a slow journey only god knows the day to day stuff. Prayers for all of Mama June and her girls. God Bless them all.
