Hallmark’s Latest Announcement May Affect ‘WCTH’ Season 11 Premiere
Hallmark has recently made a 2024 programming announcement that could affect the date of the WCTH Season 11 premiere. In 2023, Hearties were disappointed that the network premiered When Calls The Heart Season 10 in late July. That is because the network premiered two new series, The Way Home, and Ride, first before they premiered the popular series that is set in Hope Valley.
Now, there have been some changes to Hallmark’s programming. Could Season 11 have a different premiere date?
Hallmark Makes A Programming Announcement That Can Affect WCTH Season 11
Just a few days ago, Deadline reported that Hallmark announced when The Way Home Season 2 premiere would be. The multi-generational, time-traveling series is returning on Sunday, January 21. The Way Home is one of the top five series on cable in 2023
Coupled with the recent discovery that Hallmark has quietly canceled the family rodeo drama Ride, this sets up a different possibility for the WCTH Season 11 premiere.
As it appears likely that the network is making 10 episodes of The Way Home, Season 2 could end by the end of March. Therefore, could Hallmark move up the When Calls The Heart Season 11 premiere to April? This would mean that all 12 episodes could air before Christmas In July.
At this time, Hallmark has not made a specific announcement about the Season 11 premiere date. However, they will likely share a teaser and general premiere information before 2024 starts.
Is WCTH Returning For Season 12?
The next big question is whether or not Hallmark has renewed WCTH for Season 12. There is no news on this. For the past few years, When Calls The Heart has started production in July. As they will need scripts, that decision will need to be made fairly soon.
Therefore, Hearties should expect some sort of news in the next few months.
What Should Hearties Expect When Calls The Heart Season 11?
WCTH Season 10 ended with a dramatic cliffhanger. Newly elected Lucas Bouchard was in trouble. Therefore, Bill Avery, Nathan Grant, and Elizabeth Thornton were headed to help him. In addition, Elizabeth broke off her engagement with Lucas before the election.
However, based on Erin Krakow’s photo from the last days of Season 11 filming, it looks like Elizabeth and Nathan are now an item. The Wedding Cottage actress shared a photo that showed the new couple standing next to each other for a final scene.
Besides the budding romance between the teacher and the mountie, the show’s co-creator Brian Bird promises a wedding. However, we don’t know who the couple is. In addition, those fans who love Chris McNally should be happy to know he will be a regular star in the upcoming season.
But, those who were hoping Lori Loughlin would return will disappointed. Hallmark has not been in talks to bring her back. Therefore, Abigail Stanton will not be back in Hope Valley anytime soon.
Hearties, do you think that WCTH Season 11 will premiere earlier?
