Dean McDermott Breaks Silence On Split With Tori Spelling
Dean McDermott has finally broken his silence regarding his split from ex-wife Tori Spelling. Apparently, McDermott is largely to blame for the romance coming to an end. Here is what he revealed about the end of their relationship.
Dean McDermott & Tori Spelling Grew Apart For Years
For a long time, it seemed like Dean McDermott and Tori Spelling had a Hollywood love story of sorts. They fell in love quickly, got married, and were together for 18 years. The couple even had five children together.
However, behind the scenes, things were quickly unraveling. Tori and Dean were growing apart from each other. Their relationship problems were only exacerbated by Dean’s prescription drug and alcohol addiction.

“All Tori’s ever done to this day is want me to be happy and healthy and I inflicted a lot of damage and pain on that woman,” he told The Daily Mail. “I’m taking accountability for that today. And it’s the biggest amend that I’m ever going to have to make.”
His interview with the outlet is the first time Dean McDermott has opened up about what led to the beloved couple’s split. Although it is true that the couple had started to grow apart, it was Dean’s alcohol-fueled rages that were the proverbial nail in the coffin of their relationship.
According to Dean, by the end, the pair were just living like roommates. The couple stopped sharing a bed in 2017 because Tori insisted on allowing their pets to sleep in the room, including a pet chicken and pig. Slowly, Dean started to feel more and more isolated from his wife.
There was also a lot of concern about money and paparazzi, which led Dean into a deeper depression. To deal with his emotions, he started to rely on alcohol and prescription drugs even more.
Dean’s Alcohol-Fueled Rages Scared The Kids
Unfortunately, his addiction led to intense rages that terrified his wife and children. Other times, he would pass out, leaving Tori Spelling worried and checking on him throughout the night to ensure that he was still alive.

The couple’s split was announced in June, and Dean McDermott spent his summer in rehab. He now says that his addiction ultimately led to the end of his marriage.
“Alcohol made me feel good enough. I started feeling good enough until it got to a point where it didn’t – it ended up in isolation,” he said. “It ended up with me drinking a fifth of tequila every night, seven days a week, and a handful of narcos by myself with a beautiful family in the other room.”
Dean has not seen his wife or children since moving them out of their home at the end of June. He is now making an effort to communicate with Tori Spelling via text and is eager to see his kids again.
