‘The Masked Singer’: Who Is Donut, All The Clues And Hints
After missing last week for the World Series, The Masked Singer returned this week for a brand-new episode with four new singers. One of the new singers was dressed as Donut and impressed the voters enough to move on to the next round in the competition.
Here is a look at Donut and what we know about this latest performer on The Masked Singer.
Donut performs on The Masked Singer
The new episode of The Masked Singer saw four new singers show up and perform as they fought for the big prize at the end of the season. The four new singers were Hibiscus, Anteater, Candelabra, and Donut. Out of the four, the voters chose Candelabra and Donut to move on to the next round. Anteater and Hibiscus battled it out after that and Hibiscus ended up unmasking as The Real Housewives of New York City star Luann de Lesseps.
As for Donut, he came out on The Masked Singer and sang Blue Swede’s “Hooked on a Feeling.” Fans loved the performance enough to allow him to move on past the Smackdown. Nicole Scherzinger mentioned that Donut was tall. Robin Thicke said he was a “big guy” Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg agreed he was “huge.”
As for his clue package, it was a Western scene where he said he was part of a “mega-hit” that sent him to number one. However, he said that one hit caused people to put him “in a box.” There was then a badge shown and he said he was “well-rounded” and said he was a country boy who “got out of Dodge.” There was then an orange flag with LA on it. Also, there was also a sign that said “Wild West.”
He said he had been singing since he was young and said he has been in “theaters from Chicago to 42nd Street.” There were blue cowboy boots and signs that said “Open” and “Today’s Music Bar.” He also said he poured his heart into a song or two. There was also a “Mr. Grill” food truck. However, he said he went back to his roots and there was a neon sign with a bow & arrow and a full moon.
After his performance, his live clue was OMC’s “How Bizarre.” He found it bizarre he was on One Hit Wonder night since he has “hit after hit after hit,” just like “Rocky.”
Who is Donut on The Masked Singer?
Nicole Scherzinger thought it was Sylvester Stallone because of the “Rocky” guess. Ken Jeong also thought it was an actor and guessed Jeff Bridges. Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg guessed Tom Jones, and Robin Thicke agreed.
The Tom Jones guess seems like a good one. The only problem is that Jones is 5’10” and Donut seemed bigger than that. For the clues, 42nd Street is a reference to Broadway, so he performed on Broadway. It also says he was a country boy (Tom Jones is from a village in Wales).\
Jones also had a mega-hit early in his career with “It’s Not Unusual.” It went to number one and caused him to get several offers for similar songs. However, out of all this week’s new singers, this is the hardest to guess.
