‘The Masked Singer’: Who Is Candelabra, All The Clues And Hints
The Masked Singer returned to Fox this week after missing last week due to the World Series. With the return came four new singers vying for the big prize at the end of Season 10. One of the new singers had the Candelabra costume, and fans voted her safe this week in the competition.
Here is what we know about Candelabra and who we think is under that mask.
Candelabra performs on The Masked Singer
Candelabra was one of four new singers this week on The Masked Singer. She joined Donut, Anteater, and Hibiscus for the week. By the end of the first round, Candelabra and Donut were safe from elimination. They watched as Anteater survived and Hibiscus unmasked as The Real Housewives of New York City star Luann de Lesseps.
As for Candelabra, she came out on The Masked Singer and sang the Amerie song “1 Thing,” a song from 2005 that peaked at number eight on the Billboard charts. On “One Hit Wonders” night, this wasn’t Amerie’s only song to chart, but it was the only one she had that was certified gold in her career. However, Candelabra didn’t have to worry about that as she impressed the panel and the voters and moved on.
As for her clues package, it started with Candelabra outside a castle. She said she had a “fire burning” since she was young to achieve her “wildest dreams.” After this, she went into the castle and called Kevin Hart. She said at 12, she called performers from her hometown and asked for a chance to perform onstage. Candelabra said one agreed and her career took off.
She then said she never slowed down her “hustle” and fought hard to keep “burning the candle at both ends.” There was also a blue butterfly on an ornate frame and she said she “reaped the rewards” of her work with a lot of accolades. There was also a green map of California and a gift tag that read “Santa’s Naughty List.” After she sang, the Spin Doctors song “Two Princes” played and she said she didn’t need two princes instead of “one fire princess.”
Who is Candelabra on The Masked Singer?
The guesses took a humorous turn when Ken Jeong guessed Mariah Carey. Nick Cannon said he thinks he would know his baby mama’s voice. Ken changed his guess to Regina Hall. Nicole Scherzinger guessed Brandy. Robin Thicke guessed Anika Noni Rose from The Princess and the Frog.
We believe that Candelabra is Keyshia Cole. A lot of the clues line up. Keyshia is from Oakland, which ties into the California clue. Also, she said she got someone big from her hometown to help her hit it big. When she was 12 (the age from the clue package), she recorded with MC Hammer. She met Tupac Shakur, who helped her get her big break. Tupac isn’t from Oakland, but he considered it his home (there is even a street there named after him).
Also, she called herself the Fire Princess, and her nickname is the Princess of Hip-Hop Soul. She has also won a lot of awards, including the Billboard and ASCAP Awards.
