Tyra Banks Loses ‘DWTS’ Executive Producer Role
Tyra Banks stepped away from her role as show hostess on Dancing With The Stars ahead of Season 32. However, she apparently planned to stay on as an executive producer in a more low-key role.
But according to recent reports, her position in the executive suite has come to an end too. After spending the past four seasons as an EP, Tyra Banks is officially out at Dancing With The Stars.
What exactly happened behind the scenes? Keep reading to see what TV Shows Ace discovered about her exit.
Tyra Banks has reportedly severed ties entirely with DWTS
Tyra Banks replaced long-time show host Tom Bergeron ahead of DWTS Season 29. She also stepped into the executive producer role behind the scenes. But right away, Tyra proved to be incredibly unpopular with viewers. Many fans rejoiced when she announced she wouldn’t return to host Season 32.
However, many DWTS viewers forgot that she also held an executive role.
According to The Sun, Tyra Banks is no longer affiliated with Dancing With The Stars in any shape or form. The publication shares that Conrad Green is currently the only executive producer listed in the credits.
It’s very likely that most DWTS fans won’t notice her absence in the executive suite. Season 32 is halfway through and is likely to continue as planned until the finale.
The show continues without the supermodel
No one can say for sure why Tyra Banks left her executive position on DWTS. But back in March, she announced she was leaving her hosting gig to focus on other ventures. Her exit allegedly came as a major surprise to other executives who didn’t appreciate the news.
Former pro dancer Julianne Hough stepped into Tyra’s old role with Alfonso Ribeiro acting as co-host. At the time, judge Derek Hough said he wasn’t surprised that the former supermodel chose to leave.
“I wouldn’t say that it was surprising,” Derek shared with Us Weekly. “She’s got a lot on her plate and a lot of things happening in her future. She’s one person that will always work and will always be an entrepreneur and always create opportunities. And she’s a powerhouse.”
Many current DWTS cast members said positive things about Tyra after her departure. If there were any negative feelings, they largely kept the thoughts to themselves.
