Katie Maloney Challenges Scheana Shay’s Loyalty Post-Scandoval
Katie Maloney is challenging her Vanderpump Rules co-star, Scheana Shay’s loyalty post-Scandoval. It is well-known that Scheana is a flip-flopper when it comes to friends. More so, she always feels the need to be liked. This often backfires and now it may be happening again. Read on for more details.
Katie Maloney Challenges Scheana Shay’s Loyalty Post-Scandoval
It has not been an easy ride for Katie Maloney and Scheana Shay. They started out as enemies but, by Season 3, were forming a good friendship. Shay was there for Katie when her friendship with Stassi Schroeder ended and then when it picked back up again. They remained close enough for Shay to be a bridesmaid in Katie’s wedding to Tom Schwartz. Yet, the problem was Shay did not know who to be loyal to, wanting to be liked by all. It happened again in Season 7 when she had to ice out James Kennedy to keep her friendships with some of the female cast.
In Season 10 when Tom Sandoval cheated on Ariana Madix with Rachel Leviss, all of the female cast rallied around her. This meant Scheana Shay was ride or die for Madix as they had been best friends for years. However, Scheana also was extraordinarily close to Sandoval so cutting ties was hard. She has since been seen hanging out with him at BravoCon which rubbed Katie the wrong way. The sandwich shop owner spoke to Us Weekly about her feelings toward Scheana:
“‘Girl, I love you, but why do you keep making these weird choices?’ It’s just weird choices to make. I check with her sometimes. I’m like, ‘Do you feel like you’re on the wrong side of things often?’ And she’s like, ‘Mm-hmm.’ I’m like, ‘OK, well it’s good that you know so you can correct that.’ But then she doesn’t correct it.”
Ariana agreed with Katie Maloney: “I mean, it’s weird and I don’t know. It seems, you know, whatever. I am not going to tell somebody what to do or how to —” Quickly, Katie noted she will tell someone when they are wrong and added that they don’t have to listen to her. However, they should at least think and act smart.
Bad Behavior
Though Katie Maloney was firm that it was weird and would have no problems saying this, Ariana Madix had more to say on the subject. She noted it is not hard to do the correct thing and when you make a mistake, be ready for the backlash (referring to the Sandoval hang sesh). James Kennedy actually came at Lala Kent during a panel for allegedly being in Tom Sandoval’s suite. This was incorrect as it was Scheana Shay and Ariana looked visibly hurt talking about it. Time will tell how his presence will cause friendships to shift.
