LPBW: Tori Roloff Struggles To Communicate With & Parent Josiah

Sharing a clip of Josiah going on a walk with Zach, Tori Roloff admitted there was more than meets the eye. Sadly, it wasn’t easy to get to that peaceful moment captured in the photo.

She explained: “So Josiah definitely tends to be our more opinionated soul in the house and it was kind of a rough morning with him, so I had to share this.”

Tori Roloff continued to explain Josiah is a “really frustrated kid” and that he gets pretty angry or upset. Now, she clarified this was new territory for her as Jackson and Lilah never really threw tantrums. So, she’s in unfamiliar parenting territory despite this being child number three.

Turns out, Josiah Roloff wanted to go on this walk outside with his father. He, however, did not want to put shoes on. Tori explained there was a power struggle with getting him to put the shoes on so he could go outside like he wanted.

Trying To Figure It Out With Her Husband

Tori Roloff continued to share that she and Zach are trying to figure out how to handle Josiah. On one hand, they do not Josiah to think tantrums are a solution to problems. They, however, don’t want to negate having feelings either. In fact, Tori Roloff believes part of Josiah’s frustrations stem from the fact that he’s so young and so small. He sees his siblings playing and he wants to do more than he’s physically capable of doing.

Now, the Little People, Big World star adds that she decided she had to get on Instagram and share this story. She knows a lot of parents follow her. And, she wanted everyone to know it was alright to have a rough day with your children. She believed that rough days and not having it all figured out didn’t make someone a bad parent.

Tori continued to share: “We’re just trying to navigate how to teach Josiah to communicate that he’s frustrated or communicate what he wants instead of yelling it at us and throwing himself on the ground.”

Just because it can be embarrassing as parents and it can be really difficult and frustrating for us as well, and I think that prayer is a huge thing for me. Literally just went outside and prayed… and then we let him cry it out in his room, I went in and talked to him calmly, and now they’re outside taking a walk, and hopefully we can resume our peaceful morning.
