Dancing With The Stars Motown Night just concluded!

Although the competition was fierce, the top 12 couples gave their routines everything they had. Could the top couples from last week defend their spot? Or did another couple take the lead?

Keep reading to get the scoop.

One couple defends their spot at the top of the DWTS leaderboard

Good Morning America host Michael Strahan joined the other three judges for Motown Night. As a result, scores this week were out of 40 instead of 30.

After receiving poor scores from the judges last week, Brady Bunch star Barry Williams and Peta Murgatroyd managed to recover and pull their scores up. They scored a 25 out of 40 for their Tango to “Get Ready” by The Temptations.

Likewise, Mauricio Umansky and Emma Slater also managed to recover after having the lowest score of the week during Latin Night. Last week, Mauricio seemed to forget the steps mid-routine and ultimately winged it. This week, they scored a 23 out of 40 for their Foxtrot to “Working My Way Back to You” by The Spinners.

But who had the highest score of the night?

Singer Jason Mraz and Daniella Karagach absolutely stunned the judges with their Jive to “Do You Love Me” by The Contours. They earned a 34 out of 40 for the performance, earning two 9s in the process.

Nines typically aren’t earned this early in the competition. Clearly, Jason Mraz and Daniella Karagach are doing everything they can to bring home that Mirrorball Trophy!

However, they weren’t the only couple with a 34/40. Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix and Pasha Pashkov also received the same score for their Quickstep to “You Can’t Hurry Love” by The Supremes. Carrie Ann Inaba loved the dance so much that she rushed to hug Ariana after the number ended.

Bachelor Nation’s Charity Lawson and Artem Chigvintev were hot on their heels and managed to score a 32 out of 40 for their Foxtrot to “My Girl” by The Temptations. If The Bachelorette star wants to win, she and Artem will have to take things to the next level.

Motown Night featured another elimination

No one enjoys saying goodbye to their favorite DWTS contestants. But at the end of Motown Night, another pair had to leave the competition. After receiving the lowest combined scores from the judges and votes from fans, Jenna Johnson and Tyson Beckford went home. The pair had hovered near the bottom of the leaderboard for a while, so many viewers weren’t surprised.
