Joy Behar NSFW Wise Cracks Barbara Walters Had A Porn Smile
During a recent episode of The View, Joy Behar makes a comment that causes some awkward feedback from the audience. While the host was trying to be funny, she pulled in an NSFW topic that left her co-host hurriedly scrambling to the next subject.
Barbara Walters Fond Memory
Geri Halliwell joined The View Tuesday to promote her new children’s book, Rosie Frost and the Falcon Queen. Undeniably, she reflected on a piece of advice Barbara Walters gave her nearly two decades ago. The Spice Girls singer relayed, “[Barbara] said I have a camera smile that she uses. And I always still use this piece of advice. She says — you know sometimes how you feel a bit stiff? … You look into the camera, you go, “[Sigh],” and you get the right kind of smile. That’s the Barbara smile.”
Joy Behar Brings A Twist
Reminiscing about Barbara Walters, Joy Behar joked about her former cohost of The View by cracking an awkward NSFW remark. After introducing the idea of a sigh before the picture, the co-hosts discussed back and forth how Barbara did it. Joy Behar backed up Halliwell’s comments. Geri Halliwell noted, “Every time [Barbara] took a photograph, it was like, “[Sigh].” Halliwell then stated the mouth has to be “slightly open” in order to nail the smile. While continuing to poke fun at Barbara’s signature smile on the show, Behar retorted, “Well, those are from her porn days.”

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin impulsively exclaimed, “Oh my God!” Immediately, this gained a shocking reaction from The View’s audience. So Joy Behar walked back, clarifying, “No, I’m kidding. I’m kidding. They know it’s a joke.” Abruptly, co-host Sara Haines shifts subjects by stating, “OK, now let’s move on.”
Joy Behar Salutes Barbara Walters
Even though there was a crude, NSFW jab during this episode of The View, Joy Behar previously communicated admiring words about Barbara Walters following her death. The broadcaster passed at the age of 93 in December 2022. As confirmed by Walters’ rep, Cindi Berger, with Us Weekly at the time, “Barbara Walters passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones.” Continuing, “She lived her life with no regrets. She was a trailblazer not only for female journalists but for all women.”
Previously, Joy Behar referred to her former colleague as “the original role model” for female broadcasters. And fondly Joy said, “People have been talking about her on all of the shows, but we knew her better than anyone. We had dinners with her, we hung out with her and we fooled around with her,” she spoke on the January 3 episode. “The thing about her is she very much defied sexism and she defied ageism. She was not just a friend to us; she was one of a kind and very important to the industry.”
