Katie Maloney Shares True Demise Of Marriage

Vanderpump Rules star Katie Maloney is sharing what the true demise of her marriage to Tom Schwartz was. Viewers watched the couple of over a decade struggle for some time. Yet, it was still hard to see them call it quits. So, what was the nail in the coffin? Read on for more details.

Katie Maloney Shares True Demise Of Marriage

Prior to filming Season 10, Katie Maloney told Tom Schwartz that she wanted a divorce. The couple had wed twice since the first time, he had lost their marriage certificate. In Season 8, they got married again in Las Vegas but they dealt with infidelity and fertility struggles. Schwartz learned that he had some issues with his sperm so he had to take extra steps so that they could conceive. He was careless when it came to this plus he was very invested in his second bar, Schwartz & Sandy’s. Eventually, it was enough and the marriage was over.

According to Us Weekly, Katie Maloney opened up about everything on the Almost Adulting podcast, hosted by Violet Benson. She really shared why it did not work with Tom. “I never felt prioritized. He didn’t really have my back or defend me or make me feel supported or heard. I just wanted that validation from him. So I made myself smaller in ways. I lost myself. I was a shell of a woman. It took me working on myself in general — not really because of all of that — but I wasn’t feeling great in my body and in general. I wanted to boost my own confidence and just started working on myself.”

Katie also addressed the fact that Tom Schwartz had cheated on her prior to them getting married and even after they wed. During Season 6, it came out that he got drunk and kissed one of Lala Kent’s friends while Maloney was away in NYC. She noted that all of the bad stuff that happened, her ex blamed on her. Sadly, she just accepted that it was her fault. Admittedly, she had very little self-confidence during much of that time.

A Better Life

Now, Katie Maloney is set to open up her sandwich shop, Something About Her, with Ariana Madix. Along with that, she has no regrets about ending her marriage to Schwartz. Katie said that watching the episodes from Season 10 and how her ex-husband acted has helped. She did admit to resenting him but also found him “gross” so she shared that was a good thing overall. It will be interesting to see how it all comes together for Season 11.
