‘Teen Mom’ Cory Wharton Gives Devastating Update On Maya
Teen Mom star Cory Wharton is giving a devastating update on his daughter Maya with Taylor Selfridge. The little one has been through so much having to do with her heart. It seems like the road is still very road to a clean bill of health or at least a manageable one. Now, her father is giving an update on what is next for her and it is not the best. Teen Mom Cory Wharton Gives Devastating Update On Maya
Fans who have followed Cory Wharton and his daughter, Maya appreciate the fact that he always keeps them informed. Whenever she is having heart surgery or has an emergency, he is always there to fill his followers in. Since she does have a congenital heart condition called tricuspid atresia. According to the Mayo Clinic, this condition is defined as a “heart defect.” More so, it happens at birth, and “the valve isn’t formed between the two right heart chambers.” Plus, it limits blood flow to the heart while causing the lower right area to be “underdeveloped.”
Now, Cory Wharton is opening up as to what is next for Maya. Per the Daily Mail, Maya has more surgeries in her future. Early in 2023, she has another open heart surgery and this has been the hardest thing for the father of three. He shares his oldest daughter, Ryder with ex, Cheyenne Floyd. However, despite what the future may hold, and it is not the best, Cory and his family are trying to indulge in all that they can. Since everyone is doing well right now, he and his partner, Taylor Selfridge are living in the moment.
Looking back on the open heart surgery for Maya, Cory shares it was extremely hard. Some of the hardest moments were when they knew a child’s heart had stopped just by seeing a blue light come on. “No one wants to be there, no one wants to see their kid in bed. None of us parents want to be there, it was just terrible,” he noted. Plus, he was away from his other daughter with Taylor, Mila as well as Ryder while tending to Maya.
Hopes For The Future
So, what comes next for Maya? Cory Wharton explained that currently, she is doing great. “We’re just happy to turn that chapter and move on, and she is doing great. She checks out all the doctor’s appointments, she’s passing all the little tests, and we’re just so happy to turn that page and start a new chapter.” Of course, he did acknowledge that time is precious but he noted that this has made his relationship with Taylor worlds better. In the long run, they do have hurdles with Maya but for now, just grateful.
