When Will Hallmark Start Filming New ‘Hannah Swensen’ Mystery?
Sleuthers were very upset over the ending of the most recent Hallmark Hannah Swensen Mystery, Carrot Cake Murder. That aired in mid-May.
However, Alison Sweeney, Cameron Mathison, Barbara Niven and other stars of the formerly called Murder She Baked series are getting ready to film the follow-up movie soon. This will resolve the cliffhanger that has distressed many viewers.

When Will Hallmark Start Production On Next Hannah Swensen Mystery?
Hallmark left everyone hanging at the end of Carrot Cake Murder: A Hannah Swensen Mystery. At the end of the movie, Hannah returned her engagement ring to Mike. Fans have been invested in this couple for years. This is not the ending they wanted. However, a conclusion to this cliffhanger is going to be made soon. Firstly, in a TV Shows Ace exclusive interview, Alison Sweeney revealed that they would film the next movie, A Zest For Death: A Hannah Swensen Mystery in June.
What backs it up, is that the Creative BC website reports that the new Hannah Swensen Mystery will be filming soon. They report that the movie will be in production between June 12 through June 30, 2023. In addition, this listing reports that Shannon Kohli will be directing this new Hallmark mystery.
How do we know this information is accurate? This is the industry site that shares all of the tv movies, series, and pilots currently in production, or will soon be in production in British Columbia, where all of the Hannah Swensen Mysteries are filmed.
However, there can always be some last-minute changes. When this mystery goes into production, Hallmark will certainly release a press release.
What To Expect In A Zest For Death?
In the exclusive interview, Alison Sweeney shared some of what Sleuthers should expect in the next mystery. Firstly, we will see Delores’s reaction to Hannah’s broken engagement. Those fans who loved Barbara Niven in Carrot Cake Murder should expect quite a performance.
Next, there could be a complication with Norman. He is dating attorney Gabrielle Miller. Will their relationship be tested or even broken now that Hannah is single again?
Lastly, the Days star revealed that the story will feature Mike and Hannah finding their happily ever after.
But we ended Carrot Cake with the clear message that Mike is not giving up on Hannah, and of course Hannah still loves Mike. So…this is just another challenge for them to overcome.
Most of all, Alison Sweeney wants fans to enjoy the reunion. “Hopefully, the fans will enjoy the process of seeing them work their way back to each other.”
But, will Moishe be happy?
Finally, the plan is that A Zest For Murder will premiere in the fall, before Countdown To Christmas 2023 starts.
