Mama June Gives Update On Her Daughters’ Current Relationship
Mama June recently gave some exclusive insider info on how her kids are getting along these days. Fans often see Alana, Pumpkin, and Jessica getting along and remaining close. Yet, some have wondered about Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell and her relationship with her family.

Mama June gives update on her daughters
Most of the talk over the past few years has centered around Mama June Shannon and her estranged relationship with her daughters. It went so far that she mostly lost custody of her daughter Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson to her other daughter, Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird.
However, in a recent exclusive interview with Distractify, June said that all her daughters have a strong relationship now. This includes Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell, who mostly disappeared after Here Comes Honey Boo Boo went off the air. While the other daughters – Alana, Pumpkin, and Jessica Shannon – have been on the spinoffs, many fans might have wondered what happened to Anna.
According to June, Anna received a cancer diagnosis earlier this year. It turned out that Anna’s health problems brought the family closer together. June said she has been working on her road to redemption and when Anna learned she had cancer, June and her other daughters stepped up. The family has worked together to make sure Anna gets to her treatment appointments.
“Me and Justin, we take her to treatments [during] the week. Then throughout the week, Pumpkin and Alana will come up, and then Jessica will come up one week,” June said. On top of that, June’s husband Justin Stroud, and Anna’s boyfriend Eldridge Toney are also helping in this tough time. June then threw one member under the bus, saying they had not been there for Anna.
Anna’s cancer battle
Mama June admitted that the cancer has brought her girls closer together. Pumpkin previously said she didn’t have a close relationship with Anna at all. She admitted they are not close like she is with Jessica and Alana. However, with Pumpkin stepping up to help her sister during this battle, it shows how strong their family can be.
Anna learned of her cancer diagnosis in January (via People). The 28-year-old learned she has stage 4 adrenal carcinoma. The cancer was found in her liver, kidney, and lung following a series of tests after she complained of stomach aches. June’s oldest daughter underwent her first round of chemotherapy in February.
Anna and her family remain hopeful that she will pull through. Doctors are waiting to see how she reacts to the chemotherapy. Anna is the mother to two children of her own – Kaitlyn, 10, and Kylee, 7.
