How To Watch The ACM Awards Tonight
The 2023 Academy of Country Music Awards are on tonight which is a huge deal. In 2022, the awards ceremony moved off of network TV and cable and went to streaming. This confused many viewers, especially those who had yet to experience streaming services.
The good news is there is a way to watch the ceremony tonight for free. Here is what you need to know.
How to watch the ACM Awards in 2023
With so many shows moving from cable and broadcast television to streaming services, it often seems confusing for some viewers. They need to know where and how to see the shows they want. In some cases, it is easy as when Dancing with the Stars moved to Disney+. Fortunately, there was a big enough audience to understand how to make the move from ABC to streaming.
However, with Amazon getting into the act, it is a little harder to understand. When the NFL moved Thursday Night Football to Prime Video, a lot of football fans didn’t know how or even if they could follow it to watch. Now, the ACM Awards are doing the same thing. While the awards ceremony is not on regular TV anymore, it is on Prime Video.
This is actually a good thing for people because it means viewers can tune in for free even if they don’t have a Prime Membership. When it airs tonight, it is available to watch on Prime Video for members and non-members alike, and it is free. All you have to do is go to Prime Video on your smart TV or streaming device (Roku or Chromecast stick) and it will be listed on the front page as a live episode.
For fans without a smart TV or streaming device, they can still watch it online at Amazon. For anyone who misses the live show, it will be added tomorrow to Amazon Freevee, which as the name indicates, is also free to watch.
What will happen at the ACM Awards in 2023?
There are two hosts at the 2023 ACM Awards with Garth Brooks and Dolly Parton leading the proceedings. Brooks has won 20 ACMs in his career while Dolly has brought home 10. However, this is a huge night for Dolly, as she is unveiling the first song from her upcoming rock album, Rockstar, at the ceremony.
On top of the hosts, other big stars signed on as presenters. This includes names like Gabby Barrett, Keith Urban, and Trisha Yearwood. There will also be non-musicians serving in the roles. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and their Hall of Fame running back Emmitt Smith will also be presenters.
Several stars will also perform at the ACMs. The live performances include Jason Aldean, Luke Combs, Ed Sheeran, Keith Urban, and Miranda Lambert. The ceremony kicks off at 7/6c on Prime Video.
