Sherri Shepherd axed Wendy Williams’ producer

When Sherri premiered in the fall of 2022, Suzanne and David were EPs. Insiders told Page Six that they got the boot this week. Sherri is wrapping up its first season soon. The reason why she axed Wendy’s producer is that she wanted to bring on “fresh energy” for the new season.

David isn’t surprised by the firing. He remained with the crew “to help get through the hump of launching a new show.” David had a feeling that his job wasn’t going to last forever. Meanwhile, Suzanne became a “sidekick and buffer” in the iconic “Hot Topics” segment. This isn’t as beneficial for Sherri Shepherd, who has a career in comedy and acting.

Suzanne was a central part of The Wendy Williams Show. Instead, Sherri Shepherd brought on her best friend, Jawn Murray, even though he’s new to working as an executive producer. A spokesperson for Debmar-Mercury told Page Six they plan to “announce a new executive producer” shortly. They will produce the show alongside Jawn.

Firing David Perler & Suzanne Bass

In the meantime, fans will have to say goodbye to Suzanne and David. Sherri Shepherd wants to revamp the show in the next season. That means more changes will come along. The statement commended the pair and shared that they “have been integral to Debmar-Mercury’s success in daytime syndication for many years and have helped launched ‘Sherri.'”

Despite their firing, Debmar-Mercury still wants to work with them in the future. They also wish the duo luck with their future endeavors. There is no other news on how Sherri’s talk show will move into the second season. Fans will have to see what else happens.

  1. Sherri is so wrong for firing Suzanne I believe Sherri was nominated for the different awards is due to Suzanne being her Executive producer Suzanne and Norman brought so much energy to the Wendy Williams show her friend J Murray isn’t working for me Suzanne and Norman was great whom I miss I may stop watching the show please bring Norman to the forefront and keep Suzanne I think you’re making a big mistake

  2. So sorry to see that Sherri fired Suzanne and Norman, they brought a light to the Wendy Williams show, I can see why Sherri wants her own people as she’s nothing like Wendy. I wish nothing but the best for Suzanne and Norman

  3. I think that the show worked with David and Suzanne. I don’t see why they would want to change it. I also don’t believe Sherri did the firing. Sherri is just the scapegoat. (The one who gets blamed). I believe Deb-Mar is the one who fired the producers. Maybe they were only supposed to do one season to get the show off the ground. Sherri hasn’t been there long enough to have that kind of power.
