‘Attack On Titan’ Final Season, Part 3 Dub Delayed

Episode 1 of Attack On Titan, the Final Season, Part 3 came out back in March. The hype around the episode has been palpable and there is a lot of talk in the anime community. The only problem is, a significant portion of that community, at least in the US, still hasn’t been able to watch the episode. This is because many are still waiting on the release of the English dub. Usually, there’s about a 4-week delay between the release of AoT episodes with English subtitles and with English dubbing. Sadly, though, fans are going to have to wait a little longer on the second-to-last episode in the series.
An Unfortunate Delay
Episode 1 of the Final Season, Part 3 came out on Crunchyroll with English subtitles on March 4th. That’s more than 5 weeks ago as of writing this. That means, judging by prior schedules, the English dub should be here for all fans to enjoy by now. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case.
Even more unfortunate is the fact that there is no word on why there’s been a delay in this dub. And there’s still no talk of when it actually might arrive on streaming. The only news that could clue fans into where the dub currently is in production is coming from some of the English voice actors for AoT characters. Jessica Calvello, the English voice actor for Hange, put a tweet out in late March saying she had just started recording her character for the episode.
“Started recording for the final season of Attack On Titan today. Could not stop crying,” reads Calvello’s tweet.
That tweet came out on March 20th, only a few weeks after the Japanese release of the episode. Flash forward to today and it still isn’t here. But the fact that English voice actors have recorded means it should be just around the corner. Fans are hopeful and speculating that the drop should be here before the end of April.
The Finale Of Attack On Titan
Equally as uncertain is the exact release date for the finale episode of Attack On Titan. Still, all fans have as of writing this is a release window of fall 2023. It’s unlikely that MAPPA will get more specific than that until at least a month before the release of the episode. So, in all likelihood, there will be mostly radio silence from the anime until around August or September.
Attack On Titan The Finale Season, Part 3, Episode 1 should be getting its English dub within 2-4 weeks. Part 3, Episode 2 is releasing in the fall of this year, and the English dub hopefully will follow close behind with no delay.
