Who Is Squirrel On ‘The Masked Singer’?: All The Clues
The latest episode of The Masked Singer included three brand-new singers, including Squirrel. After a tough week of competition, it was Squirrel that won the fan vote and moved on to the next round.
Here is what we know about who Squirrel is on the reality show based on the singing and the clues.
Who is Squirrel on The Masked Singer?
This week, there were three brand-new singers in The Masked Singer competition for a spot to move on in the competition. The three new costumes were Squirrel, Gargoyle, and Wolf.
Not only were the singers in costumes this week, but the panelists all dressed up like DC Comics heroes (and villains). Nicole Scherzinger was Catwoman (she was in the Pussycat Dolls). Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg dressed up as Harley Quinn. Ken Jeung was Riddler and Robin Thicke was Robin.
However, it was the singers that fans wanted to know the identities of. The first round saw Gargoyle sing Charlie Puth’s “One Call Away.” Wolf sang The Doors’ “Break On Through” and Squirrel sang Pink’s “Try.” As it is with the new formatting from this and last season, one of the singers unmasked halfway through the show and went home early.
That was Wolf, and all but Ken figured out who it was based just on his voice. Michael Bolton was Wolf and unmasked to go home first this week. That means that Squirrel and Gargoyle were the two headed for the Battle Royale round.
The two had to sing 3 Doors Down’s hit song “Kryptonite.” The end came with the voting naming Squirrel as the winner this week, meaning that she moved on to the next round. However, there was also a twist, as this week, the panelists saved Gargoyle, meaning he is moving on to the next The Masked Singer rounds instead of coming back next week to compete against Squirrel and two new singers.
Breaking down Squirrel’s clues on The Masked Singer
So, who is Squirrel on The Masked Singer? As mentioned, she sang Pink’s “Try.” It was good enough to move on to next week’s Sesame Street-themed competition. Here are the clues.
“Growing up, I was just your average professional figure skater with Olympic dreams,” Squirrel said in their clue package. “I wanted to be a child psychologist.” This package showed Swedish meatballs, a castle, ice skates, a gorilla, and a smiley face button.

She also said that she landed “myself in the psycho city of Hollywood” and “made out with Tom Cruise.” One more clue was Squirrel saying, “Just like that piece of art, I put time into my work. But it’s all worth it when I get to watch the final product like this clue, hero time.”
The panelists threw out a ton of names including Katie Holmes, Michelle Monaghan, Margot Robbie, Uma Thurman, Naomi Watts, and Renee Zellweger.
We believe that Squirrel is Malin Akerman.
Akerman was born in Sweden (Swedish meatballs) and she used to be a figure skater. She was also studying to be a child psychologist before her acting career. That smiley face was straight out of the movie Watchmen, of which she was one of the main stars (as a hero, nonetheless). She was in Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle (the castle). She also kissed Tom Cruise in the movie Rock of Ages.
