TheΒ Bluey Season 3 finale had parents and kids alike crying with the surprisingly emotional episode. However, both groups were also crying after the fact, because the end of that episode looked like an epilogue and it seemed to be a series finale, ending the beloved children’s series.

Bluey’s creator, Sam Moor, has opened up about that season finale and he has some news about the possible future of the animated series.

Bluey Creator Talks Future Of Show

TheΒ Bluey season 3 finale was heartbreaking. The episode saw Bluey’s family planning to move away from their friends and family. When Bluey’s dad Bandit gets a job offer with a nice raise, he realizes he can give his family a better life by accepting it. However, as the episode wears on, Bandit realizes that the extra money might not be worth what his family will lose by moving.

The family chooses not to move when the people who agreed to buy their house back out. Then, there is a scene at the end where an adult Bluey brings her kids to see their grandparents. With the jump into the future (and the fact that they will never move now), it seemed like a perfect epilogue that shows how things end for the family.

Parents and kids alike believed that scene meant the show would not return and it would end after Season 3. That is not the case.

BlueyΒ producer Sam Moor told BBC in an interview this month that there is more to come for the popular kid’s series. No, it is not the end for Bluey. I’m sure we have many more surprises in store for you,” Moor said. “We have more in store and we are thinking what would be next.”

When Will Fans Get To See More Bluey?

With the confirmation thatΒ Bluey is coming back, the question now goes to when the next episodes of the beloved kid’s series will return.Β Bluey first started airing in October 2018, and it has been extremely popular with over 20 billion streaming minutes on Disney+. This is even more impressive since it is an Australian show that gained popularity worldwide.

The third season finished in April 2024 with the 28-minute long “The Sign,” This is three times longer than a regular Bluey episode, and was one of the best of the entire series. That means there have been three seasons over six years. However, each season was split into parts. Season 1 had 52 episodes released in 2018 and 2019.

Season 2 had two parts, released from 2020 to 2021, with 52 episodes, and the third season had four parts. It started airing in 2021, with 11 more episodes coming in 2022, 10 more in 2023, and only three in the fourth part in 2024.

This is not many episodes for a kid’s cartoon, and after making 150 episodes, Executive producer Daley Pearson said they would take a break (via People). “We are just coming to the end of season three and trying to think about what’s the best way to make it better.” While Bluey is not ending, don’t expect anything new until 2025, at the earliest.
