Who Is Gargoyle On ‘The Masked Singer’?: All The Clues
The latest episode of The Masked Singer included three brand-new singers, including Gargoyle. After a tough week of competition, Gargoyle came in second place to Squirrel but ended up as the second competitor to get a judge’s save.
Here is what we know about who Gargoyle is on the reality show based on the singing and the clues.
Who is Gargoyle on The Masked Singer?
This week, The Masked Singer saw three brand-new singers take the stage and compete for a chance to move on. These new singers included Wolf, Squirrel, and Gargoyle. On top of the singers taking the stage, this was also one of the themed weeks on the hit reality show. This week, it was all about DC Comics.
The panelists each dressed up as DC heroes and villains. This included Robin Thicke as Robin, Ken Jeong as Riddler, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg as Harley Quinn, and Nicole Scherzinger as Catwoman. There were also special guests there including Zachary Levi and Helen Mirren, who star in Shazam: Fury of the Gods.
However, what was important wasn’t the theme, but the singers. The first three singers took the stage and one of them was unmasked halfway through the episode. That was Wolf, who sang The Doors’ “Break On Through.” All the panelists except one (Ken Jeong is no surprise) figured out his identity. It was pop crooner Michael Bolton.
That then left it down to two singers to battle it out in the Battle Royale. In the first round, Gargoyle sang Charlie Puth’s “One Call Away” and Squirrel sang “Try” by Pink. In the Battle Royale, they had to go head-to-head, singing 3 Doors Down’s “Kryptonite.”
In the end, the fans voted for Squirrel to move on. However, the panelists get one save per batch of singers. While they waited until the last week for the first batch’s save, this time they did it in the first week and saved Gargoyle, who will now move on to the next round.
Breaking down Gargoyle’s clues on The Masked Singer
As mentioned, Gargoyle started off singing “One Call Away” by Michael Puth in the first round. He quickly caught the attention of Nicole Scherzinger, who finally has her eye on someone she thought might be special.
But, what about the clues?
“I went from the guy they passed on to the guy they passed to,” Gargoyle said. The fact Gargoyle is a bigger guy, most people believe he might be an athlete. There was also a clue in his package of a jukebox with “I Love LA” written on it. That caused Robin Thicke to guess former San Diego (now Los Angeles) Chargers tight end Antonio Gates.
However, there is another possible former Chargers player who this might be. We think Gargoyle is Chargers wide receiver, Keenan Allen.
In 2013, the NFL Combine did not invite Allen to try out for teams ahead of the NFL Draft. As a result, he set up his own tryouts and the Chargers drafted him in the third round based on that. He ended up being the first NFL player to ever catch 10 passes for over 100 yards with a touchdown in three straight games. That is the record he broke (based on one of the clues).
