1000-Lb. Sisters cast is currently looking for ways to get paid better salaries for their appearances on the TLC show. After the latest revelations about their meager pay scale, reports suggest that TLC is planning damage control with an all-paid trip for the entire family. So, how are TLC producers trying to bride the family with a trip? Keep reading to find out the details!
1000-Lb. Sisters Cast Isn’t Happy With TLC’s Paycheck
The TLC show premiered in January 2020 to showcase the struggles of the Slaton sisters with obesity. In the beginning, Tammy and Amy strictly followed a strict exercise routine and diet. However, the picture changed gradually and the duo started to lose motivation. This change in dynamics started the onset of drama, tears, an overflow of emotions, and more.
Now, the show is airing its fourth season and Tammy has made things better for her health by getting to her goal weight. However, the same cannot be said for her paycheck or for any of her family members. As reported exclusively by The Sun, Tammy Slaton is being paid $2,000 to $3,000 per episode. Moreover, unlike previous reports, her medical bills aren’t being taken care of by TLC. So, she has paid for the entire 14 months of her rehab stay with her earnings.
1000-Lb. Sisters Cast Is Planning A Spin-Off Show
On the other hand, Tammy’s half-sister Amanda takes home just $700/month for her appearances on the show. As per an insider close to the Slaton family, they are considering having serious talks with the production team to increase their salaries. However, TLC is trying to bribe them with an all-expenses-paid trip to Greece. Given that the team hasn’t started shooting for Season 4 Part II, they have time to convince the cast otherwise on their salary hike demands.
Given how TLC is notoriously popular for underpaying its cast members, the family is looking for something else. As confirmed by the source, Tammy and her family are currently in talks with another production house to start filming a spin-off show with better pay. They also revealed that the family would rather start fresh with an opportunity that helps with their daily expenses. Moreover, they are not at all interested in a trip to Greece regardless of how exciting it seems.
Does TLC Manipulate 1000-Lb. Sisters’ Story?
Additionally, the family is also disappointed at the production’s portrayal of them on the reality show. They revealed that the production cuts out their deep and meaningful conversation. Only the parts that make them seem dumb or controversial make it to the episode. Given how the story is manipulated by TLC, it is obvious that the cast members have been looking for better options.
