If you follow Joy and her husband Austin on social media, you may have realized that they often take the heat for the way they’re raising their children. The couple shares four-year-old Gideon and two-year-old Evelyn. They have a baby boy on the way too.
In the past, they have been called out for many unsafe situations, which they openly document on Instagram and YouTube. At one point, pregnant Joy Forsyth cruised around on an ATV. A gun was left within the kids’ reach on the kitchen table. Evelyn went barefoot at a construction site. The list goes on and on.
It may not surprise you to learn that Joy is being slammed once again.

On her Instagram Stories this week, Joy gave fans a glimpse into a typical day with Gideon and Evelyn. She shared a couple of pictures of the kids playing with balloons. In one shot, Evelyn had her face pressed up against a balloon as Joy snapped a picture.

Duggar fans express concern for the little girl’s safety.
After seeing Joy Forsyth’s new Instagram Story post, Duggar fans and critics took to Reddit to discuss it. Many were shocked to see what Joy had shared.
One snarker said, “This is why children raising children is so dangerous. Any other adult without kids knows you never have a balloon or any other plastic up against a little kid’s face.”
Someone else shared a tragic true story and commented, “Yeah, my husband’s friend lost a child to a balloon getting in their throat.”
Another called the situation “SO dangerous.”
In addition to posting photographic proof of the dangerous activity, Joy misspelled the word “balloon” as “ballon.” Fans called her out for this, but it’s not nearly as serious as Evelyn’s safety. One Reddit user admitted, “I didn’t even notice the spelling with all the child endangerment.”
Fans just hope Joy will start taking proper safety measures to protect her kids.
