During the course of the second season, a pipe burst in Tina’s home. Everyone living in the home was forced out. All eight occupants squeezed themselves into a small hotel room until repair crews finished working on the damage.

Several 1000-Lb Best Friends viewers found the situation to be incredibly strange. Many wondered why Meghan and her fiance Jon couldn’t get their own hotel room or place to live. The online commentary finally reached the TLC stars, who decided to address the situation. They recently spoke to iHollywoodTV about the flood and their living situation.

Tina claims she genuinely wants Meghan to stick around

After receiving bariatric surgery, Meghan wasn’t comfortable living on her own. Tina was apparently the one who invited her to move into her home. But it wasn’t just that — Tina went on to admit that she too was in a dark place and didn’t mind having her friend closer.

The TLC personality said that she was starting to develop dark and anxious feelings that she just couldn’t shake. Allowing Meghan to move into the basement really comforted her.

“All I can say to the people that think she shouldn’t be here is … she is helping me to be here,” Tina confessed while speaking with iHollywoodTV. “So I need her here.”
