Yellowstone Season 5 is currently on a midseason break. Currently, John Dutton (Kevin Costner) is facing a standoff with Jamie (Wes Bentley) and could lose his governorship. Does this mean the end is soon?
According to Deadline, Bentley revealed that Sheridan has a plan. “He has said to me, he knows how he wants to end it.”
He continued, “That was a while ago. I’m sure he didn’t know how we were going to get there but he knows how.”

There Will Not Be Nine Seasons Of Yellowstone
In 2021, the New York Times interviewed the Yellowstone creator. He knows how he will end his story. Moreover, despite its popularity, he is unwilling to compromise the integrity of the series by slowing down the story to keep his top show on television.
Well, I know how it ends. I’m writing to that ending. There’s only so much hovering one can do before the story starts to lose its locomotion; you can’t put it in neutral just because it’s successful. It will go as many years as it takes for me to tell the story, but you’re not going to see nine seasons of it. No way.
Taylor Sheridan was firm in revealing that his original series will not last for nine seasons. As the series is now in Season 5, this means he will have, at most, three more seasons to plan out and film. That is if he chooses to end the series with Season 8.
He could end it with Season 7, or even Season 6.
However, Yellowstone fans should not despair. He does plan on a couple more spinoff sequels that would take place in the 40s, and the 60s. He has a lot of Dutton stories to tell!
No matter what, he knows how it will end.
When Will Yellowstone Season 5 Return?
According to the new Yellowstone trailer, the second half of Season 5 will return this summer. However, Paramount did not give an exact date. What is the reason for the big break? Unfortunately, they still have not filmed these episodes.
Paramount Series Will Continue Filming Soon
Sometime this month, they will start filming Episodes 9-14 of Yellowstone Season 5. This is the reason for the lengthy mid-season break.
However, viewers can watch the new spinoff prequel 1923, starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren on Paramount+. In addition, the streaming channel also has 1883, which stars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. These spinoffs tell the bigger story of the Dutton Family saga.
