‘Alaskan Bush People’ Ignores Bear Brown’s Arrest
The lure of reality TV is to show the good, the bad, and the ugly of these reality TV stars. Take a look at any Real Housewives show, and it reveals the ugly side of the stars as well as the goodness in their lives. However, when it comes to Alaskan Bush People, the show seems ready to sweep the bad under the rug.
Bear Brown was arrested while filming the current season, and the show jumped right over the event, ignoring it completely.
Bear Brown was arrested for domestic abuse
One of the ways that fans of reality TV stars can build a connection with them is to see them deal with adversities and watch them grow stronger as a result. This season already has some big ones with Noah Brown considering leaving his siblings and mother and returning to Alaska with his wife and kids. The biggest adversity is with Birdie Brown, who had two tumors removed and has to decide if she ever wants to have kids or avoid cancer returning.
Bear Brown’s arrest would have been right up there with them both. On Friday, March 11, 2022, police arrested Bear on fourth-degree domestic violence charges. He spent the weekend in Okanogan Country Jail and was released Monday without bail. A police report said that the charges followed an altercation between him and wife Raiven Brown.
According to the report, Bear was accused of pushing Raiven and pinning her down on a bed. Officers reportedly observed a scratch on her but no other physical injuries. Bear denied the charges and said he was just trying to get her phone from her.
A no-contact order was placed against Bear, but Raiven asked the judge to remove it and he did. This allowed Bear to return home. Bear accepted a plea deal and as long as he stays out of trouble until December, he will have all charges dismissed.
Alaskan Bush People jumped right to pregnancy storyline
In June, Raiven told the world she was pregnant with her and Bear’s second child. On Alaskan Bush People, the announcement came this week on the episode. The couple not only told Ami about the pregnancy but revealed the gender of the baby as a boy. The gender announcement in real-time occurred in July.
That means that Alaskan Bush People skipped the arrest entirely and jumped all the way to the end of June/beginning of July with the series, a time jump of over three months without saying as much. It has made it hard to keep track of where they are. Since they skipped May, they also ignored Bam Brown’s auto accident in May that put him in the hospital and led to one fatality.
