‘American Pickers’ Frank Fritz Home Under Construction, Why?
American Pickers’ Frank Fritz will soon move into his Iowa farmhouse that is currently undergoing major renovations. The 57-year-old is currently at a rehabilitation center after being hospitalized for a deadly stroke on July 14. After showing signs of improvement, the reality star was moved to the rehabilitation center for further recovery on September 6. So, why is his farmhouse undergoing renovations? Frank Fritz’s Initial Care Plans Require Big Changes To His Farmhouse
Frank is currently being cared for by his temporary guardian and is under conservatorship. Back in August, his longtime friend filed for an emergency appointment as temporary conservator and guardian. And as per the court’s mandate, Frank’s Iowa farmhouse needs to get major renovations done before the star is released from rehab.

As per the court documents obtained by The Sun on October 18, the guardian needs to follow the Initial Care Plan. The documents mandate that the house should have handles and ramps throughout the area including the toilet and shower to ensure the mobility of the patient. So, the guardian is currently getting the house ready for when Frank is released from rehab.
Court Confirms Frank’s Decision-Making Capacity Is Impaired
The Frank Fritz Finds owner bought his $155,000 farmhouse back on May 14, 2010. The property also has a barn, shed, and warehouse that is used to store his motorcycle collection.
The temporary conservatorship and guardianship documents from the court read:
“Because of his stroke, Mr. Fritz’s decision-making capacity is so impaired that he is unable to care for his own safety, or to provide for necessities such as food, shelter, clothing, or medical care without which physical injury or illness may occur.”

A doctor also provided details of Frank’s health concerning his decision-making capacity. As per the legal papers, “Mr. Fritz’s decision making capacity is so impaired that he is unable to make, communicate, or carry out important decisions concerning his own financial affairs.”
So, the court mandated that decisions will have to be made for him while he continues to recover and receive treatment for his injuries. The documents also confirmed that the appointment of a conservator and guardian is necessary to avoid any immediate harm to the reality star.
Frank Fritz’s Conservator Will Handle His Financial Affairs
While Frank’s long-time friend is his guardian, a bank is currently serving as his conservator to handle his financial affairs. Both the conservator and the guardian were approved by the court earlier this month.

The conservator bank is in charge of making payments for Frank’s care while he recovers in his residential facility. They will also be responsible for controlling his business interests like companies and partnerships, daily expenses, and medical liabilities.
