‘American Pickers’ Update On Frank Fritz Since Crippling Stroke
American Pickers alum Frank Fritz is currently recovering in rehab after his near-death experience due to a stroke that happened four months back. The reality star was hospitalized on July 14 after his friend found him having a seizure on the floor of his home in Iowa. How is the 59-year-old doing now? When will he be released from rehab? Here are some new details of his recovery journey!
Frank Fritz Was Released From Hospital In September
Back in August, Frank’s longtime friend filed for an emergency appointment as temporary conservator and guardian. Later on October 18, his friend filed for Guardian’s Initial Care Plan for Protected Person. As per the court papers, the Frank Fritz Finds owner is recovering at a rehabilitation center. He was released on September 6 from the hospital. Plus, his guardian visits him once every week at the rehab.

He is responsible for the facilitation of all care needs, providing transportation to medical appointments, and helping with Frank’s domestic and social requirements.
Frank’s Iowa Farmhouse Must Have Ramps To Facilitate Navigation
However, before Frank is discharged from rehab, his farmhouse in Iowa must have certain things added to help with his condition. As per The Sun, his farmhouse should have ramps to help him navigate through the house. The house should also have handles in the toilet and the shower to help him with better mobility.
The appointed guardian will also aid him during his treatment for Crohn’s disease while he continues his physical therapy. He will also aid Frank in grocery shopping, cooking, and any other activities that require help.

The legal document reads,
“Because of his stroke, Mr. Fritz’s decision-making capacity is so impaired that he is unable to care for his own safety, or to provide for necessities such as food, shelter, clothing, or medical care without which physical injury or illness may occur. Mr. Fritz’s decisionmaking capacity is so impaired that he is unable to make, communicate, or carry out important decisions concerning his own financial affairs.”
Doctor Provides Details Of Frank’s Decisional Capacity In Court
A doctor also confirmed in the court that the star doesn’t have decisional capacity.
“Decisions must be made for Mr. Fritz’s care and placement while he continues to recover and receive treatment for his injuries. Appointment of a guardian and conservator is necessary to avoid immediate harm to him,” continued the legal papers.

While Frank’s longtime friend would be his guardian, a bank would be the conservator appointed to handle his financial affairs. Both the conservator and the guardian were approved by the court earlier this month. The conservator is responsible to take charge of the payment for Frank’s care in his residential facility. It will also control his business interests like companies and partnerships. And, make payments for his every living expenses and medical expenses.
